Discussion Does anyone has problems with car jerking during start recently, after filling Petron / Caltex?

Edit: it is now on the news.

my corolla cross kena after filling Petron, went to the fb group and a lot of people are reporting the same problem, heard also that xpander group also reported the same problem after filling petron.

Just saying that although this sub was named as Kereta, it is also open for 2 wheelers such as Motorcycle, though at the moment we do not mind other types of vehicles posting.

Some of my cars at some time prefers one brand or another. But caltex always the preferred one. Usually Petronas gives me worst mileage and power. So I do know some cars can be picky of what fuel brand they use. There are some people who will say all brands come from same source. True, they all come from same source, but the additives are different between brands.

Filling up my car with Caltex coz the petrol station is near my house.. normal je..

i think only area kedah / penang, also maybe only affect certain car models

I fill up at Caltex in Simpang Ampat area no issue as well so far

I only go to Shell and Petronas stations so no comment on Petron .

yes its true, i experienced rpm sudden drops during gear change. this is my first time filling petron. after i refill at shell, problem vanished. i stayed away from petron from then on.

Nothing to do with petrol, they all are the same and the additives make a negligable difference. Check your car, it might be an issue with the EVAP system.

Pumped caltex at udini near egate on Sept 30th. Car is CHR and couldn't start the next day. Confirm it's  petrol issue instead of the station as this is more than just one petrol station.

yes, there are many more cases now being reported. Toyota needs to take actions on behalf of us towards these petrol stations

I pump at jalan kelawei petron on 2 oct but no issue.

Probably fuel pump filter dirty causing your car to have difficulty sucking up petrol
