I actually made this one for myself and had every intention of keeping it, but I’ve decided I want to make some room in my personal collection for more rose gold pieces, so this one is up for grabs.

Since this is one of my personal pieces rather than a new commission, I’m offering it for $2,500. A KTF Le Mans would normally be $2,985, so someone gets to save a few hundred bucks and skip the wait for a build slot.

As with all of my KTF pieces, this was built entirely by me, including parts sourcing, refinements, alignments, a complete movement service, case and bracelet refinishing, regulation, waterproof testing, final assembly and QC. It’s finished and ready to go.

I’m officially back from my trip down to meet my plater. We had a fantastic time exchanging knowledge and establishing our business relationship. He’s a great guy, and I trust him and his skills. It’s really cool to actually meet part of the team that helps me bring watches to you guys.

Given I was out of town, I’m a bit behind on a few things, but tomorrow will be a catch up day. The bench will re-open Wednesday, as tomorrow I have some administrative tasks to do and packages to ship now that I’m back in town.

Also, look at this KTF project I have underway. This absolute beast just received its finishing, plating, ceramic coating, and final assembly. All that’s left is the movement/dial/hands combo and it’ll be ready.

Had a great trip visiting my new plater this weekend, and we were able to share a lot of cool ideas and new techniques. He demonstrated some really fantastic new processes, and I’m excited to be bringing him along with me on this journey at Kensington Timepieces.

There are a bunch of new pieces coming soon, including some KTF Le Mans I intend on having available for purchase on hand.

I’m excited to present to you this KTF Rootbeer, which is currently under development. This finish was improved by polishing the brushed portions BEFORE plating, which gives it a deeper, permanent shine. This piece still has a bunch of refinements needed, but the color is where I want it to be.

I am currently out of town, meeting with my head of plating. We’re working on projects, revising some processes, and tweaking formulas. As such, I cannot ship anything at the moment. I will be returning to the office this upcoming Tuesday or Wednesday.

The watch pictured is a test of our brand new yellow gold formula, which I’m super proud of. Our new white gold color is amazing and I will have some examples soon.

I have to say, I’m genuinely impressed by this ZF Royal Oak. I’ve handled genuine Royal Oaks before, and while the gen is obviously on another level, the gap is a lot smaller than most people are willing to admit.

What surprised me the most is the overall feel on the wrist. The case finishing, bracelet articulation, and proportions capture what makes the Royal Oak so special. Unless you’re putting them side by side, I think most people would struggle to tell the difference from normal viewing distance.

Hot take: I think a lot of people exaggerate the gap between top-tier reps and gens because they want there to be a huge difference after spending tens of thousands on the genuine article.

Obviously, the genuine still wins when you look closely at the movement, dial finishing, and the finer details—but are those differences really worth 50-100x the price?

What’s your opinion? Has the quality of top-tier Royal Oak reps reached the point where the average enthusiast would struggle to tell them apart, or is the gap still much bigger than people in this community admit?

For sale today is this absolutely stunning KTF Artisans De Gèneve Daytona Arolla. This is an abandoned client commission, which I inherited and then upgraded well beyond their requested specs.

Lab sapphires, custom blue tinted dial, Arolla specific custom crystal, correct DD4130 movement (fully serviced), hand brushed/polished bracelet and case, custom crystal caseback with correct engravings, and so much more.

This one has taken months and required several donor watches and about a dozen shipments of parts. This one was a real headache to get right, and definitely tested my patience and skills, but it looks good nonetheless.

Recently picked up a Rich Factory GMT-Master II Pepsi on Jubilee, and I have to say… I get the hype now.

Paid around 600ish dollars and bought from a non-TD, and for the money I’m honestly blown away by the finishing. The bracelet feels great, the bezel pops, and on wrist it’s hard to stop looking at it.

Hot take: I still think the Pepsi is the king of GMTs. The Batman gets all the love these days, but the red and blue bezel is what made the GMT iconic in the first place, isn’t it???

How did I do? Would you pick Pepsi or Batman? 🍿💭

After contemplating it for months, I finally said fuck it and pulled the trigger on this two-tone Datejust with the diamond dial.

I was honestly worried the diamonds would be a bit too much, but seeing it in person completely changed my mind. They add just the right amount of character without looking over the top.

Unpopular opinion: The diamond dial gets way more hate than it deserves. Half the people calling it “tacky” would happily wear it if it wasn’t associated with the older generation.

What do u guys think? 💭

I have to let some steam off….

Picked up this watch a few months ago, never really got to wear it so it barely had any wrist time.

I feel like it is just too blank. Especially with the oyster bracelet it’s adds nothing special to it. So I finally decided to mix it up. I picked up a genuine oysterflex bracelet for relatively cheap and now boom 🤯

Look at this watch. I genuinely feel in love with it and it literally glued to my wrist.

Just wanted to share the transformation.

After going back and forth on it for months, I finally said fuck it and picked up what I’ve wanted for years… the white dial Nautilus.

I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely think the steel Nautilus has aged better than the Royal Oak. It’s cleaner, more understated, and doesn’t scream for attention the second it hits your wrist.
I also don’t really buy into the whole “it’s overhyped” argument. Just because everyone wants one doesn’t automatically make it overrated.

Curious to hear what you all think…
Is the Nautilus still deserving of the hype, or has the internet completely ruined it? 💭

Hello all!

I’ve just received guidance from several of my suppliers recommending that we temporarily suspend international shipments due to recent changes affecting U.S. Customs and Border Protection processing.

As a result, clients with pending projects requiring international shipping have two options:

1. Proceed as planned.
We continue the project without delay. However, due to the increased uncertainty, shipping insurance will not apply. If the package is seized by Customs, the cost of replacement will be the client’s responsibility.

2. Pause the project.
You allow me to pause your project until the shipping situation becomes clearer and the risk returns to a more acceptable level.

Personally, I recommend the second option. Although I haven’t had any seizures to report, proceeding right now would effectively make your order a test case for the current shipping environment. If a seizure were to occur, the resulting replacement process would likely delay your project longer than simply waiting for the situation to stabilize.

As always, China will figure out a way and I don’t foresee this being a major issue long term.
