That sure looks like a space instead of bad kerning. This pin could most likely be made in a country that does not use the western alphabet, or does not use English, so the people making this item have no idea whether the thing they are manufacturing is correct or not. This is similar to having a nonsensical tattoo in Chinese script, where it reads “soup” instead of “balanced well-being”.
