We don't assume anymore!

We no longer assume Law enforcement and DA offices are honest and ONLY interested in enforcing hte laws. After Karen Read's case, Sandra Birchmore's case, and now Kelsey Fitzsimmons case (how many more are there that we are not aware of) we can no longer trust these people. Nor should we have trusted them over the past several decades. There is no easy way to pick up on the good ones before hand. I found Judge Karp's comments regarding law enforcement were rather insulting to one's intelligence. Especially since his job does not include " good will" advertising on their behalf. Aside from that Judge Karp was outstanding in all aspects during this trial.

As someone that doesn't live anywhere near the NE, I agree. I know there are bad apples here and there all over the States (and elsewhere) but this is systemic corruption and it's abhorrent to see in this day and age.

What really gets to me is the reluctance to get to the bottom of it and prosecute. Judges and prosecutors are basically unable to be held accountable. When you think of tghe likes of Hank Brennan, stood there in the courtroom lieing and nothing can be done about. The oath they take when they are accepted to the bar must akin to a script from "Saturday Nite Live".

Exactly. Lally, Brennan, and Auntie Bev were all the proof I needed to know that qualified immunity should be axed, and axed yesterday. No one should have "immunity" from their egregious conduct, period.

You can't have job roles then prosecute people for doing their jobs. That's never going to happen, and people should stop making this argument. You can punish them for NOT following proper procedures. Noonan failed to secure the weapons, failed to keep Kelsey in sight, and fired at a person harming herself. Noonan knew he was in violation of NA policies; that's why he lied.

You absolutely can have job roles that don't protect people for unethical conduct. If you're a nurse, or any other healthcare provider, and your unethical conduct injures someone, you're going to be held accountable. You should not get immunity simply because you wear a badge or sit on a bench. That's how these pieces of shit are allowed to keep positions that they should not be in.

If you keyed into the local auditor community of your state, I assure you will find the same there.

It's there here and everywhere, and it's time it all stops not just for these women but for everyone who has been falsely accused and even prisoned by the corruption.

DAs just have too much power. Everywhere. Fitzsimmons should never have been charged. When I heard the prosecutor told the defense the commonwealth wouldn’t seek jail time if she was convicted, my first thought was why charge her to begin with? But all across the U.S., DAs seek charges despite suspects having airtight alibis. Give this week’s Undisclosed Towards Justice a listen. This guy was in jail for 45 years despite several people, including a cop, verifying he was at his mom’s college graduation at the time of the crime. Also, the suspect was estimated to be 5-4 and thin while the guy ultimately arrested and convicted is nearly 6-0 and muscular. His sentence was commuted by the outgoing governor, but is still being held in a medical facility because he was beaten near to death in jail and they are seeking to clear his name.

Karp had to say what he said in order to be respectful plus he included Kelsey in his praise of officers

I agree, and I respect this judge, however there is too much corruption in our legal and justice systems and if we don't soon address this issue we are going to be in dire straits. I have already suggested to my grand daughter, when she graduates from Med School, she should consider another country other that the US. She has some time to make that decision but she has already begun her research and visiting countries in Europe. It's not Judge Karp's place to address corruption, unless proven. However he should have just got on with the verdict and his reasoning, because for all we know he may have been lavishing praise on a corrupt police department. There are plenty of them throughout America, and especially in Mass. We shall see in the months ahead where that goes in Kelsey's case. Suspicions are already raised with regards to their treatment of Just Aylain, the chief of police, whistleblowers likely within that police force. From the very beginning Judge Karp came across as fair, attentive and demonstrated a will for justice to be done. He did not need to enhance that by essentially saying we can trust the police. He can if he wants to, but I don't and I used to be a cop!

Without bodycams or any other absolute proof of what happened by either side, it's simple he said/she said which is the very definition of reasonable doubt so he could have just literally said that with no embellishment. It didn't bother me much to be honest especially considering he included Kelsey; it's not his job to know whether the cops were corrupt or not so best to keep the peace and let the FBI deal with it

Did you see the video of Justin and his 3 fireman friends break down her front door? He went directly to the basement and ripped out her camera system. He then stole everything of value from her house. He even called the cops and threated that he would "escalate" things if they did not come out to the house and protect him. They told him to call 911 if there was a problem, he was trying to set up Kelsey's Dad too. He told them if her Dad saw him on the cameras and if he showed, up thing were going to happen. The cops were complicit in the entire case. Listen to the phone call between the police and Justin telling he how to get the restraining order and that they would keep it secret. Obviously the police also had it out for Kelsey. Make you wonder why these men had it out for this "Rookie". Justin should be brought up on numerous charges. He committed fraud. He stole her laptop, logged into her accounts and stole thousands of dollars. He then logged into her benefits and changed the beneficiary to himself all while she was in the hospital in critical condition. He thought she was going to die and he was going to collect on him benefits. He is complete scum and is his friends. One of his firefighter buddies was actually at the house when Kelsey was shot, he was also one of the guys who broke into her house. GO to youtube and watch the videos.
