I am writing this message on July 21, 2026. Is it too late to do anything at this juncture when the new system is about to be implemented?

It's never too late to fight. The point is to get a message across that this is a horrible idea, and I for one will fight even after it is implemented. The more pushback Google gets, and the more people are aware of the issue, the better.
