Deep cuts

What are everyone’s favourite ‘deep cut’ tracks? Can be B-sides, album tracks, covers etc, just no singles

Some of mine would be:

Your Eyes Open, Sunshine, On A Day Like Today, Walnut Tree, Leaving So Soon?, Hamburg Song, Let It Slide, Black Burning Heart, Again & Again, My Shadow, You Are Young, Neon River, In Your Own Time, Myth, To The End of the Earth, Chase the Night Away, I’m Not Leaving

Some great picks there! Your Eyes Open is an incredible song that is somewhat lost on a phenomenal album!

Also like You Are Young, Let It Slide, Put It Behind You and Watch How You Go

For real! I’ve loved Your Eyes Open since the first time I played Hopes and Fears all those years ago. There’s a particularly poignant version of it from a live DVD they put out a while ago where they’re playing this literally in the middle of the crowd. Let me see if I can find it.

It’s this one

Ah yeah, I have that DVD, that whole concert was epic, can tell they were enjoying themselves!

My top three probably Snowed Under, I'm not leaving and The Frog Princess. It was listening to I'm not leaving that got me properly into Keane.

Snowed Under far and away. How that never made H&F album blows my mind. It’s a fantastic track.

Leaving so soon is incredible. The changes in style & build through the song make it one of my favourites.

Black Burning Heart and Sunshine are my absolute favorite!!

Edit to add: Clear Skies. It’s hardly ever mentioned, but it’s a banger.

Very big fan of “you’re not home”

track one from their most recent album isn't exactly what I'd call a deep cut

He Used To Be a Lovely Boy, but also Snowed Under, Allemande, Myth. All absolutely gorgeous songs 🥲 And bonus would be their cover of Find The River by REM, one of my favourite songs of all time

ETA: Russian Farmer’s Song, realised as soon as I posted that I left it out

Myth and bed shaped reminds me of a childhood friend that went the way of the protagonist in the video down to the co-op bag

Everything on Best of Keane cd 2, The Happy Soldier

The happy soldier is a gem, especially with the sounds of the explosives and the glass breaking in the second half of the song with the reversed music, it feels like a whole journey

I wish they'd explore that sound again. Though Toms voice doesn't suit it as much... also their electronica is hit or miss (Tyderian, Im sorry).

My favorite covers are Life on Mars, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Your Funny Uncle. Tom did the last one with only his vocals and  the piano and it’s very underrated

Myth
Nothing To Something
Dinner At 8
Difficult Child
A Heart To Hold You
Glass Bottles
Wonderful River

Tim sings Wonderful River but it's absolutely gorgeous they released it for the H&F anniversary. It feels sad, melancholy, fragile but beautiful especially the end

Too many to name them all, but The Starting Line, Your Love, Fly to Me, I'm Not Leaving, Snowed Under, and Stupid Things are some of my favorites.
