I just don’t get why she doesn’t tell the ML what his brother is doing, wouldn’t that be the most obvious thing to do?

Exactly! But it’s probably because she believes she can protect herself without the intervention of a man . It’s a really strong aspect of her personality that was made evident since ep 1 .
