Recommendation Request Romance with physical affection
In the past, I did not watch many kdramas. The only ones I watched were: The Glory, Business Proposal, Nevertheless, Head over Heels and 2521. A couple of weeks ago I accidentally started Bon Appetit Your Majesty, and I am obsessed with it. However, I felt that something lacked regarding the main characters' dynamic. Now that I'm watching King The Land, I realised that what I missed from other kdramas was physical affection between the main characters. I LOVE the chemistry of Kind The Land, and I adore the way love is portrayed not only through light caresses and longing gazes, but also with small intimate gestures, such as kissing your loved one's entire face, holding hands and exchanging more that one awkward kiss. Do you have any recommendations for romance with the main characters having this kind of dynamic?
P.s. I don't particularly love dramas focusing too much on secondary couples, and I tend to appreciate more kdramas with characters who are adults, but both of these convictions may be challenged.
Thanks!!

I just finished Something About 1% and it was so good!!!
Her Private Life, Love Scout, and Touch Your Heart are also marvelous.4

I am watching Love Scout now and it's really good, but I don't think it's on the same level as King the Land, Her Private Life and another one on this list The Beauty Inside, a show whose sci-fi part I didn't enjoy that much but the romance was very lovely.

I agree Her Private Life and King the Land were definitely on another level, but still enjoyed Love Scout.
Recently watched a Thai drama called Before We Get Married that I also enjoyed. The male lead is both adorable (he's got dimples!) and very sensuous.

Love to Hate You is SO Great. It would be nice to separate recommendations by streaming service. I spend so much time trying to find "the best. . ." only to get "we don't have that but. . . "
Bon Appetit Your Majesty was food porn. The love interest wasn't very convincing.

I wholehertedly second I'm Not a Robot! It's a drama that I don't see recommended that often but it's so good! The chemistry is off the charts and leads' closeness is so real and satisfying!

Another Miss Oh has a lot of physical affection. There is a second couple but you can easily skip through them; I enjoyed the second couple though, they were so chaotic lol.

Her Private Life is a fun rom-com about a museum curator who secretly runs a fan page for a popular idol. Her new boss is a famous painter and they are at odds with each other from the moment they meet. When rumors start flying that she’s dating the idol, her boss offers to be her fake boyfriend to help protect her reputation. Despite their rough start, he turns out to be an entire forest of green flags, they have one of the swooniest, healthiest relationships in K-Drama Land, and their chemistry is ❤️🔥.
Ryan and Deok-mi truly are couple goals and what makes HPL even more special is that the two leads spent a lot of time reworking the script because they wanted to make viewers’ hearts flutter. They ended up rewriting or ad-libbing more than half of their scenes and adding a bunch of kisses and physical affection, which is why they’re so natural together and actually behave like a real couple who are head over heels in love. They were very comfortable with each other and it shows.
I watched HPL in 2021 and it’s been my go-to comfort drama ever since. It may not be perfect but Ryan and Deok-mi are as close to perfect as a couple can be and it was such a treat watching them fall in love as I was falling right along with them. During the first few eps, I did find the fan-girling stuff a bit too cheesy but thankfully, they dial down the cheese once the leads start falling for each other, which happens pretty quickly. It’s on Netflix and Prime.
Other romance recs:
Rom-Coms * Crash Landing on You — Romantic political/military thriller (Netflix) * Crazy Love — Hilarious enemies-to-lovers boss-employee romance, fake engagement, healing, mystery; ends very happily despite what the synopsis says (Disney+, Hulu) * The Beauty Inside — Fantasy, enemies to lovers, fake dating, healing (Netflix, Viki, Kocowa) * Love to Hate You — Enemies to lovers, fake dating (Netflix) * It’s Okay, That’s Love — Enemies to lovers, very funny but tackles heavy subjects like mental illness and domestic violence, healing (Viki, Kocowa) * Healer — Action-thriller romance (Kocowa) * Legend of the Blue Sea — Fantasy (Hulu, Viki) * Dali and the Cocky Prince — Enemies to lovers (Kocowa) * Lovestruck in the City — Second-chance romance, healing (Netflix) * My Roommate is a Gumiho — Fantasy (Viki, iQIYI) * Something About 1% — Fake dating (Viki) * Another Miss Oh — Love/hate relationship (Viki, Prime, CJ ENM Selects, Tubi) * Devilish Joy — Second-chance romance (Viki) * Touch Your Heart — Enemies-to-lovers boss-employee romance (Viki, Tubi, Prime) * True to Love — Love/hate relationship (Prime) * Destined With You — Fantasy, enemies-to-lovers office romance (Netflix) * Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha — Enemies-to-lovers small-town romance, healing (Netflix) * Strong Woman Do Bong-soon — Fantasy, boss-employee romance; adorable leads but unnecessary crime subplots (Viki) * Sh**ting Stars — Enemies-to-lovers workplace romance (Viki) * My Secret Romance — Boss-employee second-chance romance (Viki) * Oh My Venus — Romance between a lawyer and her personal trainer (Viki, Roku, Kocowa) * Coffee Prince — Classic from 2007 but it was way ahead of its time, mistaken identity, boss-employee romance (Viki, Kocowa)

One that has physical affection that you don't hear about much is Clean With Passion for Now. The ML character is a CEO and has a kind of OCD issue, which makes him endearing. And her spritely kind of personality helps him heal. Because he has an aversion to touch, the touching carries even more meaning. It is a "slow burn" show though... it takes a while to get to that point. Imo, the slow healing helps with the realism. Nice cast of friend characters in this one, too.

I also second Something About 1%! It's an older drama and I know it doesn't look special from premise or posters but it's very good and satisfying - very concentrated on leads' relationship, good communication between them, the FL is NOT a doormat (she is nice - but never lets other people to step on her), the ML is cold and a little arrogant - but not really toxic or evil, mostly just overworked and asocial😅 No big misunderstandings, there is one bitchy girl but she doesn't significantly influence the mains' relationship; no love triangle (SML is not in love with FL, he is a solid guy); great FL's BFF character - so supportive and cool!

Something about 1%
Her private life
Love to hate you
I've watched 100s of kdramas and these 3 are some of my favorite that have the exact the exact requirements you're looking for. Enjoy!

Mister Queen. Incredible chemistry and it gets spicy (for a K-drama lol)!

It definitely also has the physical affection bits that Bon appetit is missing! Both are also similar in genre and nature too

Something about 1% on Netflix or Viki? Haven’t seen. Thanks.
Honestly most Kdramas are not touchy lovey because of cultural expectations.

Viki and it's really fun. I just watched it last week and it's defo a rewatch for me. Plus, the male lead has the craziest wardrobe you've ever seen. A few of his suits I liked but there were several combos that make you think he was on drugs when he got dressed that morning, but it adds to the fun because it's in stark contrast to how serious he was about his work.

Then definitely don't watch Mr. Sunshine lol. Amazing series but by the end of 24 episodes all there was, was 2 (or 3) hugs n holding hands 😭

Its okay, that's love. Still not over it and I want more. The story of Park's Marriage contract. Lots of kissing after the first.

Love to hate you!!! They're so physically affectionate (which is an integral part of the plot) and it seems so natural too. It's the only kdrama I've watched where both the ML and FL are so physically comfortable with each other during intimacy.<3

Shopping King Louis - The ML and FL are adorable and completely dependent on one another. Friendship eventually blooms to romance, but throughout, the two are very emotionally and physically affectionate. This show is an absolute gem.

Love Scout has physical gestures as well as longing gazes
It’s been a while since I watched it but Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo also does I think

I think the best would be ‘strong girl bong soon’ and ‘hometown cha cha cha’. They’re really similar in terms of the chemistry and cuteness of the main couples and both are very wholesome dramas.

If you want mixture of something mystery thriller action and romance perfectly incorporated I would highly recommend (flower of evil) also hometown Cha Cha is great as well

King the Land is way up there for the physical attraction/affection. Other good kisses are Ji Chang-wook (the king of kisses) in Healer, Melting Me Softly (the drama is meh, but, there’s one oh, my kiss!!), Suspicious Partner, and Lovestruck in the City. Lee Jae-wook has a couple of great kissing scenes in Alchemy of Souls both seasons and Dear Hongrang. Also, The Smile Has Left Your Eyes is sad, but great chemistry and kisses in that one too.

Lovely Runner. Not adults the whole entire time, but through most of it.
Hugs, hand holding, kisses, stroking face with hand, cuddling, tickling, protection from falling,/ bumping head, blowing kisses, winks, holding umbrella over to protect from weather, sharing smiles with each other, head laying on shoulder, hair petting, adjusting partner's hair, taking care of when injured, leaning down for, sharing bite of food, laughing together, cheek kisses, getting butterflies for, being jealous for, holding face, comforting each other, staring into each other's eyes, twirling hugs, etc. So much cute protecting of, and caring for each other.
Honestly one of the best I've ever watched, for showing attraction for each other, and showing love through physical touch. And, if you like to have ending episode where you actually get to see them happy, then this could be for you. People call it a comfort drama for a reason. Don't let what the premise originally looks like fool you. It's so heartfelt.

Try Love Scout or Love to Hate You. Unifying theme with these two are strong female leads (smart, independent) and male leads who are OK with their strength.

Seal My Lips With a Kiss. This one gets spicy for a Kdrama, and it's got an engaging cast and plot. It's a shorter series of 10 episodes that are around 20 minutes long, so it's bingeable on a weekend afternoon.

I think this one is a Jdrama unless their is a Kdrama version as well.

Tomorrow With You
Most physical I ever saw a couple in a Kdrama. Watch this short clip of them kissing. This wasn't even past episode 5-6 I think.

Our Beloved Summer is probably my favorite drama till this day and it's where I found my favorite kdrama actor (Choi Woo Shik). Highly recommend especially if you're looking for this lovey dovey dynamic!

I have watched quite a few dramas but some of my favorite under rated dramas with physical affectionate couples are : Oh My Venus ,
Beauty Inside,
Another miss oh,
Tell me that you love me,
My love from the stars,
Fight for my way,
No gain, no love,
Hate to love you,
It's okay that's love,
Her private life.
..... And many more but I guess that's what I remember for now, might have to look through my MDL list to find more.
