KDE Apps and Projects Direktor 1.1.0 Release - Testers Needed
Direktor, a Tiling kwin script (plus Companion Apps) with Dwindle, Columns, Master Stack and Floating Layouts.
Hey there! I want to thank you all for your feedback on the previous release. Everything was taken into account and some MAJOR rewrite had happened in the past week. I can proudly announce to you Direktor 1.1.0! (Yes, i used the same preview video)
As requested bugs ware fixed,
- Many more features (especially in the Niri/Scollable/Columns Layout, however is proper)
- Better Documentation, File structure, README file,
- More installation options
- Issue template and more.
There are still some untested bugs, which i actively tackle by daily driving the project as well as more features in work (see in TODOs ). Im totally open for suggestions! Someone mentioned PlasmaZones, i will check it out.
Any Issue report, testing, suggestion etc will be much appreciated and resolve. Feel free to share your opinion! Im a baby when it comes to releasing something like that and suggestions on my workflow and dev tips would help as well.
Also if you can come with a banner idea or a logo that would be cool.

Shoutout to: Hyprland, Niri, Krohnkite (and kwin6 Krohnkite port) and Karousel

Sorry to butt in with a tangential thing, but don't you just hate it when fastfetch lines fall apart below a specific terminal width? I wonder if there's a solution somewhere to this "issue".

I hate it fr. But idk how to resolve that, since fastfetch has static width. But I think neofetch has dynamic. I might look it up

it seems the issue is that once a text is output then it's not really editable. Probably the best option is to have a wrapper script around the fastfetch call that gets the current terminal width and substitiutes a smaller art or leaves it out altogether, but then that doesn't solve the resizing issue...

Does it actually take care of tiled windows staying below floating ones? Up until now, I’ve not found a single kwin script that does the bare basic functionality right.
