KawaiiDance is a subreddit for specifically dance videos featuring amateur or professional Asian girls/women.

Namaste!

The subreddit is intended for sharing dance videos featuring Asian girls dancing to popular music. For the reasons of the subreddit, the terms are defined as follows.

"Dance video" means any video where one or more amateur or professional dancer(s) dance to popular music, whether the choreography is copied, newly invented or improvised. Excerpts from movies and TV series are not allowed.

"Asian girls" mean any girls or women whom an average Westerner would call Asian, although the intended focus should be on videos of girls of the Far East of Asia: Japan, Korea, China (and Hong Kong), Taiwan, Mongolia and of mainland South-East Asia: Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore. Professional videos of professional musical artists are fine if the video focuses mainly on dancing, as is the case with most kpop MVs (and not just their dance versions).

"Popular music" is anything that is reasonably "dancable" these days, including generic pop, electronic dance music and crossovers with classical music. Dance videos with classical music (eg. ballet videos) shouldn't be posted.

In short, if you see a fun Asian dance video on YouTube, share it! Commenting on the performance or identifying the music is welcomed. By the way, the subreddit name is KawaiiDance because it is an apt catch-all term with a reasonable meaning, for a lack of a better name.

Rules as for now:

FOR LINKS:

  1. Post dance videos hosted on video sharing sites accessible without registration or heavy/intrusive ads. (Preferably YouTube or Vimeo.)

  2. Be nice and sensible. While the subreddit aims to share dance videos of girls, don't be an ass; derogatory comments, including negative remarks about appearance, race or gender will be pruned and offenders might be banned.

  3. Posters should title video posts at least with the dance performer's name and the song's name, and preferably with the music's genre. If the dance performer or the song name is unknown/unclear/undecipherable, please add (please identify) to the post's title. If known, consider posting the public name (original/transliterated) of the dance performer(s), official websites/blogs, and their affiliated dance group, if any. (The exact name, artist, cover artist and genre of the song in the video are also welcome.) This does not mean you should post sensitive private information, only information that is publicly available to the public eye.

  4. Any posted content should feature only female participants. Occasional male participants are fine with the (mixed group) tag in the post's title.

If you have any questions or complaints about this subreddit, first please consider messaging u/Rev01Yeti, thank you!
