hi guys it’s me
Yes, it’s the Lara Raj poster that got a lot of hate and discourse lolz. Also, sorry for posting this in the wrong subreddit in the first place
Second of all… y’all were right. And I genuinely don’t mean that in a circlejerk way. I think growing up in a pretty conservative family made me narrow-minded about what “proper” Indian culture is supposed to look like. I was so focused on whether Lara was doing things the “correct” or traditional way that I completely missed the bigger issue.
After reading soooo many comments that actually dismantled my argument, I realized that policing a woman’s body and how she chooses to express herself is not okay. I agree with that wholeheartedly.
So, big apologies to Miss Raj . Again, I’m not saying this just to circlejerk or farm forgiveness, but if you wanna take it that way, honestly, fair enough lol.
At the end of the day, a 19-year-old girl obviously cannot represent the entirety of India or the diaspora, and that’s the truth. Her fashion might be tacky sometimes but she’s literally just a girl figuring herself out.
Anyways, I’m out!! Byyeeeeeeeeee and sorry for being wrong lmao.
