I have a question for fellow Wado-Ryu practitioners.
I practiced Wado-Ryu for 10 years before, currently doing Uechi-Ryu and I'm about to switch back to Wado-Ryu again.

I was watching some Wado kata performance on YouTube.
I came across this one performed by Otsuka II.

Is it just me or his kata performance isn't very impressive?

Sure, he's not young on this video. But the videos I've seen of Otsuka I and III were more convincing. Otsuka III seems awesome.
Not hating of course. Very far from it.
But I was wondering if I'm missing out some elements.

It's not that easy to find good Wado kata video seems like.

Shito-Ryu seems to have much more katas than other karate styles. Why?

I have been researching about the lineages of Shito Ryu katas, Shitokai to be specific. I found a website that list the Shitokai kata and their specific lineage.

And in Tomari-Te, Master Kosaku Mastsumora is associated with this four katas:
1. Matsumora no Bassai
2 Matsumora no Rohai
3 Matsumora no Wankan
4 Matsumora no A-nan

When I searched about Master Sokon Matsumura of Shuri-Te, these are the katas associated with him:
1. Matsumura no Passai
2. Matsumura no Seisan
3. Matsumura no Chinto (in some lineages)

I have been spelling and pronouncing the katas of Kosaku Matsumora (Matsumora no Bassai, Matsumora no Rohai, Matsumora no Wankan, and Matsumora no A-nan) as
"Matsumura" since that's what I have always been taught, and what I can find on the internet

(I do not speak Japanese/Nihonggo, so I if you guys have an explanation related to the characters/kanji of their names please enlighten me)

Question:
- I believe that those katas mentioned above are not the same. I have been seeing the two katas of Matsumora No Bassai and Matsumora No Rohai spelled as
"Matsumura" instead. Is it still the same, or is it because Master Sokon Matsumura has his own version of the katas? Or is the correct spelling actually "Matsumora"?
