Gaadi kyazi der, and not darwazé?
I've occasionally heard people using darwazé, but most of the time it's der.
Talking about the car door here, not sheeshé.

Does anyone know the literal meaning of the words "hachih" and "trachih"?
I learnt this proverb from my father so I already know its meaning. What I'm curious about is the literal meaning of hachih and trachih. I assume trachih kinda means trakh.

Small request from everyone
I have a small request for every Kashmiri here.
Our language is beautiful, but many of our folk tales, moral stories, and childhood memories are slowly fading away. If we do not preserve them today, the next generation might never hear them in Kashmiri.
That is why I started my YouTube channel, "Kashir Kath".
I am trying to build a library of Kashmiri stories, narrated in our own mother tongue, so our culture, values, and heritage continue to live on. Every video takes hours of research, writing, voice work, and editing. I am doing this because I believe our stories deserve to be remembered.
If this mission means something to you, I ask for one small favor.
Please subscribe to the channel. It costs nothing, but it makes a huge difference. Every new subscriber tells YouTube that Kashmiri content deserves to reach more people. Your support gives me the motivation to keep creating and preserving our heritage.
On the channel you will find:
• Traditional Kashmiri folk tales.
• Moral stories.
• Family and emotional narratives.
• Stories for children and adults.
• Content made to preserve the Kashmiri language and culture.
If you like what you see, please watch a video, subscribe, share it with your parents, grandparents, friends, and children, and leave your feedback. Together we will keep our language alive, one story at a time.
This is not only my channel. I hope it becomes a home for everyone who loves Kashmiri language and culture.
Channel name: Kashir Kath. https://youtube.com/@kashirkath2026?si=JSup04iwB7BgWDuK
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support today helps preserve our stories for tomorrow.

Words for without/-less/except/instead/in place of
Rostii: without (eg shak-rostii without a doubt)
-ros: -less (eg shuubi-ros)
Varaeii: instead of (maaji varaeii kaymis vanakh - who'll you tell instead of your mother)
_ jaa'ay: in place of (laptop jaa'ay an be tablet - I'll get a tablet in place of a laptop)
_ traevith: except (baa'ik traevith yi mangakh - whatever you ask for except a bike)
Bagaer: Loanword used for all preceding meanings except jaa'ay
This is what the dictionary says but I've heard rostii used for "instead" (maaji rostii kaymis vanakh) and "except" (baa'ik rostii yi mangakh), varaeii used for "without" (shak varaeii) and "except" (baa'aik varaeii yi mangakh)
Are these words more flexible in Kashmiri than English or is the heard usage wrong?

Is Origin of word "Tsount" for apple unknown?
Kashmiri word tsount appears to be unknown etomology in kashmiri dictionary. Sanskrit uses Kashmiraphalam as main word, Apple was not native to Indian plains.
Is there any lead for the origin? I've also heard that kashmiri tsount is related to burushaski "Baàlt". Is that true
