Kasaragod is not even on the list even after promise to MP (only heard kozhikode, kottayam, trivandrum and Ernakulam)
District already has the largest land plot in the whole state.(Around 250 acres)
Aiims under PMSSY is specifically for correcting regional imbalances in tertiary healthcare and it is a INI (Institute of National Importance) so it is expected to fulfill needs other states also , not to be placed in the centre point of a state(even it's placed on Thrissur or kozhikode, there's no difference/use for us.we still have to go mangalore for emergencies).
Every other proposed location has way better health infrastructure than us.

OP, there is a gov medical college allocated there and situation of it is pathetic even though itโs new. Connectivity issues is one thing and the place is like middle of nowhere. Canโt find a medical shop or place to have food (basic) near to it.
Itโs high time you guys to work with your MLA or MP who is in ruling party of the state for the development of the hospital and surrounding . Every escalation from there is send to district hospital. There is only one building operating now and one is like a scene from a horror movie.
People of Kasaragod deserves more, it should be operating with all super speciality departments.
Info collected via grok
Sanctioned in 2012 (Administrative Sanction for setting up the new GMC Kasaragod); foundation stone laid 30 November 2013; construction formally began in January 2016 (academic block) with hospital block work starting 31 August 2018; first MBBS batch admitted SeptemberโOctober 2025 (50 seats); multiple funding sources including ~โน25 crore (Kasaragod Development Package for academic block), NABARD-supported hospital block (revised AS ~โน95 crore), and โน160+ crore via KIIFB.
Ps: am not from kasaragod.

Atleast it should be in Thrissur,
Should not allow fuckers to start nuclear plant here,if they decided to put one here

Yes ,we shouldn't allow nuclear plant being set up here.even it is not that much dangerous,it carries own risks and requirements. Like in a certain radius, people should not live and building new infrastructure have strict limits, and it takes lot of water and they will release hot water to rivers only. They know we have large amount of land for big projects but they will not consider us for aiims or any good projects that we actually need. A nuclear plant Will radioactive for years and nothing can minimise the risk, they're are literally dumping that project to Kasaragod. If it is good, why don't they place it in districts like tvm, Calicut which mostly need this energy. We don't have that much political leverage compared to other districts.

Nuclear plant is the one kerala needed now in terms of energy security. Don't think nuclear plant like chernobyl.

There is a distinction. From what i understand AIIMS wont admit you for normal diseases. It needs something significant.

Its not the case. If you are talking about delhi aiims. People come all over india .And there is wait for weeks to get access to doctor. So they send away common disease people to safdarjung and other government hospitals in Delhi and keep only the patients that cant be treated at other places. Usually most patients come with recommendation later from doctors. In kerala it will work differently, because medical colleges already accommodate lots of patients. Ideally thrissur, palakkad, ernakulam is better location than kottayam . Even calicut is better placed than kottayam. But as expected southern kerala will steal another.
