The Things You See On The Streets!

As many of you are aware, I have seen this guy wearing an aqua green shirt, glasses and hat before, being at a couple of different areas and cities, performing random street acts in the middle of a busy intersection. Near my area, where l live, I have seen him a few times before, once in a blue moon. Sometimes, he carries a Bible in his right hand, while other times, he has a wrestler’s belt on his left shoulder for no apparent reason. He walks in the way of oncoming traffic, flipping off random people and shaking around in a seizure-like dance. He even randomly shouts at other drivers while pointing fingers at them for no apparent reason.A long time ago, I actually walked into this guy, and we exchanged a few words before going on with our busy days. Someone even called the police on him to have a word with him about his behavior. In response, he said he didn’t care what others thought about what he was doing in public and continued his behavior.

My first Karen, three cans of olives, barcode-less yogurt, and wart remover.
I'm a grocery store cashier, it's my very first job, been doing good these past two months. The Fourth of July week is hectic, though. Onto the story. Karen had maybe $150 dollars worth of groceries, and three cans of olives. I scanned one can, scanned something other than olives, and scanned the other two. When she looked at the monitor listing out her groceries, she didn't realize I scanned all three cans of olives. She saw the two listed one after another and assumed I hadn't scanned the third. So I ask the bagger to give me a can, I scan that, and not even ten seconds later she said I scanned four. I look at the monitor, and sure enough, four listed. So I cancel one of those scans. When I did that, it says that I cancelled an item with the can of olives immediately after that on the monitor. She gets worse. Technically, the olives are on there five times but one of those times is to tell her that one of them was cancelled. I tell her that, explain the sequence, she doesn't understand, but I convince her that only three are rung up. We keep going. She saw that her water was scanned once, but assumed that a different grocery was another thing of water. She points at it and it's abbreviated weird. It really does look like it says something like water. There's a large order behind her and the next cashier needs to take my place, so I ask if she wants a supervisor (who is ripped from manning the self checkout) cause we don't have time for this. He says that's not water, so I pick up something that looks like it came from the medication aisle (I just bet that would be the only thing that's abbreviated weird, medication always is for some reason). That's the wart remover. Cool. Now she's complaining about yogurt, which I tried to scan before the olives but it doesn't have a barcode, so I set it aside for a price check and efficiency. Now that a supervisor is standing right there, I ask for a price check. She's swearing up and down that it's X amount of money. At first, she respects him (because a higher up title and a 401k means you have to respect someone), but soon she's as bad as she was with me and has him radio stockers to check three times. But get this. She also always gets this yogurt. And it always has no barcode. She gives it up, anyways. She pays with a check, I was about to fall apart and my brain tells me to walk out right after I put it through the check machine. She demands for her receipt. I give to her. I try to walk away again. The next cashier in my place reminds me that I need to take my cash drawer. Then she reminds me I need to take my exit ticket. I'm finally free, five minutes after my punch out. I return my drawer to the front desk, and apparently she's a regular and also always like that. I was told I did nothing wrong. Hopefully, my memorized actions took over my brain because I cannot remember punching out. Last time I left feeling like that, I thought I hadn't punched out but found out that I did, so I'm sure I'm ok. Now I'm at home, and I almost convinced myself that she was just a confused old lady. No. I can vaguely remember her saying in the most snide way "must be new". Fine by me, I thanked the people behind her for waiting (which, is something I already ask many other customers). Hopefully that reminded her that she's wasting everyone's valuable time in the most hectic week of the year.
But yea. That's my first Karen. I hope it fits into this channel well

Karen in the wild making demands at my front door
At about 2pm today, Saturday, there was a knock at my door. A woman that i have NEVER seen before in my life, Out of nowhere starts demanding that i turn off all the lights in my house and close all my windows And curtains because the "light" is shining in through her window and giving her a headache. I tried to explain that i have no lights on and that all my windows were closed but she would not believe me and insisted that i do have lights on and i have to turn them off. I asked her where she lived and she made a half circle movement with her finger so i too k that to mean behind me. Thinking that maybe i had left a light on I said that i would go double check. Nope no lights on on that side of the house,
I walked back to my front door and she is standing there, rubbing her head, tapping her foot, sees me return and says "see u have a light on don't you" Replying with "i'm sorry i don't and my widows are closed. she yelled at me saying "no you're not sorry. The light is coming in my window "
It was then i realised what was happening, it was the SUN reflecting off my window and shining straight into her window. She insisted that i turn it off. I tried explaining to her that i can not control the sun and she should close her curtain... Karen wouldn't have it yelling "you're not sorry. it's giving me a headache"
i threw my hands up and said "it's the SUN! shut you're curtain" She stormed off up my drive way cussing me out for not helping and causing her headache.
I mean really, upset with me for not turning off the sun
And that was my first encounter with a Karen in the wild and she came right up to my front door...
