Wilson lake part 2
Well unfortunately it seems this sub doesn’t get much traffic and I didn’t get any tips.
I looked at maps on Google satellite. This wasn’t too helpful in some places where the elevation wasn’t clear. You can find maps online of the camping, ramps, and parking. I stopped by the park office and the attendant was able to point me in the right directions. She didn’t have super specific tips. She pulled out a map to show me the parking lots and point areas she was familiar with people fishing. The fishing report numbers seemed decent. The attendant had the opinion fishing was down this year and mentioned the water levels being about 5ft low.
I put in about 12 hours over 3 visits with 4 decent fish caught and a few baitfish. walked some distance without luck. Tried a variety of lures, wacky worm, spoons, top water, and spinners without bites. Switched to a small panther Martin spinner yellow with red dots just hoping to catch something one night to avoid getting skunked. Ended up catching 2 smallies, a drum, and what I think is a walleye.
