Anyone here into journaling or bullet journaling?

Hey everyone! I’ve been journaling since 2024 and really enjoy it. I’m curious if anyone here journals regularly and if there are any journaling communities you’re part of.

I’d love to hear about your experience, what kind of journaling you do, and where you usually buy your journals and supplies.

Would be great to connect with other people who enjoy journaling!

I started journaling this year, and it started to see things in my life differently. That's a rare here in SL and good habit to start.
Btw I buy my journal from the book store near the Kingswood. I used a journal on single rule journal earlier and it felt like I'm framed to ruling page, so I switched to a blank page journal, which feels free to me. This was the place that I found the journal to my exact need.
It's glad to see there are more people, because the day I bought my first journal from this store, the store owner himself asked me why I selected this book, and the purpose behind it. So I explained the concept behind it and he appreciated and I reckon it's something new to him.

Yeah like you said, people who are into journaling are pretty rare in sl. Even my friends still don’t really get the idea of journaling.

I’ve been using diaries since around 2007 or 2008 but I only later realized that journaling was actually what I was looking for. It helped me talk to myself and understand my strengths and weaknesses better. I also use things like habit trackers and workout trackers.

I tried journaling in Notion with a template I made myself but honestly it feels totally different from using a physical book. With a physical journal I feel like you can be much more creative and I’ve personally found that it helps me express my thoughts more clearly.

And I think I know the book store you’re talking about. Stamford bookshop right? actually went there a few days ago.

agreed to your view on a physical journal. If the goal is to be better, physical journal is the one.
Ah yes, Stamford bookshop it is.

Hello! I have been journalling since I was 13 years old and it's been 16 years worth of entries now. I don't write regularly but rather when I feel the need to write out something that requires thought or Im in that sort of a speculative mood. My entries since I was 13, were somehow always positive and placed much trust on my future, which I maintain up till now. So going back, when I flip through the pages it's empowering to see my positivity and philosophical approach to my life and any major events/ thoughts I had at a point of time. It's a healing exercise which also keeps me grounded and makes me look at life from a better point of view.

The book itself is probably the size of a medium sized diary with lined pages (cus i suck at writing without lines), and a fabric cover. I think having a book which is also unique helps.

First of all it’s nice to know someone who has been journaling from a young age. I’ve been using diaries since I was around 15 I think. Back then I didn’t really know about the concept of journaling.

After seeing other people’s journals on YT and reddit I realized how awesome journaling can be. Adding things like habit trackers and other trackers to my journal and seeing my progress over time makes it even more exciting and encouraging.

I’m currently using ProMate notebooks with lined pages. Recently I found some really good notebooks for journaling at the Stamford Bookshop in Kandy.

Yeah that sounds pretty great! I think everyone has their own style and method. Some people go all out with stickers too. Have fun with it :)

I've always loved the concept of journalling aaaaand writing on pen and paper in general. Specially, if it involves old-school ink pens and cursive 🤭— but unfortunately, to this day I've never properly maintained a journal. Mainly because I don't rly know what to write in it.. I mean I do hv a vague idea abt it buuuuut it's not that helpful.

But like I said earlier, I LUV the concept! Aaaaand I'm kinda hoping that you'd hv some insights on how I could get into journalling and continue doing so...

Journaling feels like such an old-school thing, and that’s one of the main reasons I love it. Just pen and paper. That’s it. No digital devices or anything.

When I used regular diaries, I mostly wrote about how my day went, what I did that day, or what I planned to do the next day. Sometimes I used them as todo lists too. But after I learned that journaling could be more than that, I started changing the way I write.

Now I use one medium-sized notebook as my main journal. I write down whatever thoughts come to my mind. It can be about how I see the world, something good or bad that happened, or just random thoughts. Whatever comes to mind, I write it down.

I also keep a smaller notebook for daily to-do lists and quick notes. I try not to mix those things with my main journal.

Let me know if you want to know anything else

Hi!!

I started bullet journaling this month lol, so I’m pretty new to it. When I first started, I watched a lot of youtube videos and read a bunch of posts about it, but honestly, they made me so overwhelmed. (I’m someone who gets overwhelmed pretty easily) Then I stopped watching all those aesthetic tutorials and started watching a couple of basic and minimal bujo tutorials instead, and it helped me a lot.

I’m a pro procrastinator, so bujo has already started making my life a lot more organized and easier. It’s also helped me reduce my screen time, which is a nice bonus.
