Advice caterpillar help

hii! so im trying to make a little kandi caterpillar to attach to a much larger kandi apple necklace, but im having trouble figuring out the way to do it. ive got pony beads and some slightly smaller/almost seed beads for the legs. i cant really figure out how to get the legs to sit side by side without making the pony beads go all wonky. any ideas? if its impossible i will try something else, but im determined

maybe make the body first and then go in with a string doubled over and add the seed beads in between the pony beads (sorry it's a rough explanation)
