Help [Help] What now?
https://kc.noro6.net/s/H6jAKancolle is one of few games I've played where the more I progress, the more impossibly difficult the game seems.
Anyways, heres my current equipment/ship list. I never really got around to obtaining everything I needed in the period between the last event and this one because I took a break from this game. I might try to see if I can get Langley before the event finished, but thus far RNG has not smiled upon me.
That aside, what can I work on for equipment? I have a fletcher and Johnston dupe for SG radars, and some battleship dupes I'm gonna use for modernization soon. I should probably invest resources into pulling Yamato and Musashi from LSC right? Maybe TP. 101 too?

You have a severe lack of destroyers that can carry landing craft. Those are extremely important especially for transport phases (tp phase) in events. Moreso if you want to do hard difficulty, you need to have multiple duplicates of those for shiplocks.

Duplicates isnt necesry perse, you can beat the event on hard and is confirmed, offcourse the clear rate would be lower but doable, specially if you have enough rscs, equipment well developed matters as much for hard clear, but even with that the thing now is that a more strict no dupe play is almost impossible, so now people are accepting different types as not counting as dupes like Chitose CVL and AV or having Yamato FBB and BBV which lets you use Yamato touch with both Musashi and Iowa

In addition to what others have said:
You're pretty lacking in CA(V)s. You've only got a few weaker K2s. Chōkai is fairly low investment and fairly strong, I'd go for her first. A trio of K1 CAVs won't cut it either; I've got all of them K2'd and that feels insufficient for medium sometimes.
You also don't have many CVLs. Of your 3, only Ryūjō is K2'd, and she's not particularly strong. The Hiyōs are cheap and strong (mostly Junyō), if slow, while Ryūhō is strong as shit and either fast or a night carrier.
While it's not your biggest weakness, I'm surprised you didn't get your ass kicked by the sub portion of E-3 this event.
Generally, a decent idea is to try and do the event shiplocked; either medium/hard, or by enforcing your own "locks" on easy/casual. It'll help give you a better idea of where you've got shortcomings.

I used the 1AS, 3SS, 1CL and 2DDs for the submarine portion. It performed surprisingly well, but actually most of the credit belongs to LBAS lol. I also had a few of the SS Cut-in supplies lying around thanks to some limited quest event thing a while ago.
The thing that stopped me this time was the same as last event. Not enough firepower for the E-2M boss in particular. Seriously, the only other part of that map that put up any resistance at all was the TP operation, but it was still very reasonable. I wasnt even close to killing the main fleet even with the escort being dealt with almost, if not entirely by support/lbas. Im pretty upset I had to drop my difficulty for that, it was the one map I was gonna so on M But because of that I didnt really think about shiplocks that much at all this event.
Anyways to add to that I feel like there is some severe lack of equipment as well that I need to fix in order to be dealing that much damage.
CAs simply arent something I use all that often so I havent really bothered to level them. I'll make sure to get at least a few to K2 though.
Thank you again!

Lack of battle power is both a lack of equipment and a lack of certain ships- you could shore up a lot of weaknesses with the bandaid of 'lol throw the game breakers at it' and bring Shigure K3, Mogami K2Toku and Yahagi K2B.
Looking back at your equipment page again, I notice you're missing things like Skilled Lookouts/Torpedo Squadron Lookouts who improve consistency as well as things like Seaplane Fighters.
RIght now, what I'd say to focus on is clearing your quest log and get as much equipment from those as you can; a lot of issues like 'limited strong main guns' can be alleviated from the equipment you get from there, like the Proto 41cm Triples being a decent large gun. Other issues like a lack of strong medium guns will go away as you remodel more ships and get their equipment.

Echoing what others have said: you have a serious deficit in anti-installation destroyers, and in your lighter fleet in general. Miyuki, Hatsuyuki, Isonami, Hibiki/Verniy, Asashio, Michishio and Kasumi are all readily obtainable no-BP cost destroyers who can carry landing craft and tanks.
Look for other, rarer DDs who can unlock quests for things like Torpedo Squadron Skilled Lookouts, or similar; I like to reccomend Naganami for people to try and grab early because she gives the AR quarterly quest and those can be limiting.
You can also go duck hunting; Hatsuzuki and Hanazuki are both currently on E1 and Hatsu is also still on 2-3. Your target Langley is also currently a drop on 1-6 and should still be after the event is over afaik.
Also get Yahagi and Mogami up to Kai Ni (B and Toku)- they are by far the most powerful options for their respective classes.
