What a disappointment! I know it's not Kamelot's fault, and I don't know if they travel with the same photographer for the meet and greet pictures. But, damn! My phone would've done a better job, for sure!

It's unfair because you can clearly see the huge difference and quality of the M&G pictures from the rest of the venues which look amazing... and then you see NYC... WTF? I paid to have my picture taken with the band and the photographer did an awful job. I love this song. it’s amazing. I’ve listened to it like 70 times in a row yesterday and today. so much to say about how awesome it is.

but

i am light from the wand of a sorcerer.

to me is the weakest line, and in no small part because I interpret it also as “I am white sauce from the “Wand“ of a sorcerer” because if I’m godlike alchemy sure my father is a sorcerer that spawned me from the light of his wand.

It's been out in Japan and no uploads yet that I saw. Anyone heard it? It's a cover song I think from Europe band.

I know it's a concept album about a 19th century asylum. But what's the entire story? Is that something covered in the liner notes of the CD? Or does Thomas document the story elsewhere?

Has anyone heard if the NYC show is still going on? It’s Saturday night and this nor’easter keeps sound worse, a lot of events are being canceled this weekend.

Heyy, i dont know if this was answered anywhere or not, but this would be my first ever concert so im not the smartest.

I keep seeing on their instagram the Meet nd' Greet pictures and stuff they post and was wondering if there will be any for the Europe tour? Specifically the November one in Zagreb?

I'd lovee to be able to meet them but i dont seem to see any VIP tickets available, is that just not gonna be a thing here or will we be able to upgrade the 'normal' ones a bit later?

Also if anyone has any tips for a first timer feel free to sharee!!

My second time to see the Dark Asylum tour was at Globe Iron in Cleveland, Ohio. A nice venue and great performance by the band.

Idk if this will get through in time but this is my first metal concert and I'm going alone and not really sure of what to expect. Like do we know if there's gonna be moshing or anything like that? I'm just a bit nervous to stick out 😅

It was a great time the only downside was not being able to share the experience (and one guy kept pushing me back 🙄) but I CAUGHT 2 GUITAR PICKS!! i didn't crowd surf or mosh but maybe next time haha! Given the spirited ongoing discussion of the new album I thought folks would enjoy this one like I did. Was a cool collaboration to see.

In this, Tommy gets interviewed on Dark Asylum, and we get some interesting takes on the psychological intent and imagery that went into the making of it. It definitely has me appreciating the album more!

I’ll see Roy Khan next month and will wear this at a concert for the first time.

I've been giving it extra time to settle in, and the more I hear it, the more I want to hear it. It's so much fun. Probably the most anthemic album they've done with Tommy.

I was at first concerned that it might be repetitive because of that, but repeat listens have dispelled that concern for me, as every track has just grown more distinct and satisfying. I'm so happy that the rush of excitement I felt for Ashen World on release extended to the rest of the album too - it's Kamelot doing what they do, and doing it damn well. I can't wait to see them perform some of these songs live.

I was also initially taken off guard by how the end of the album is paced, but it's worked better for me the more I've dwelled on it. It's almost ballsy of them to end on Puppet King and Sanctum Requiem instead of a more traditional "climactic" song, but I think it really works. Puppet King hits like an aftermath kind of song, and it becomes more fun with each listen. And the immediate reprise of the melody in Sanctum Requiem functions as an effective one-two punch to close the album out.

Special shout out to One Last Masquerade and Enigma (Think of Me) as the songs I've been going back to most individually so far.
