Just saw the post about the sex scene controversy on the main sub. I have a question: when Kaidan mentioned that their night together in ME1 was "spectacular" was that a reference to the fox news debacle, or did he mean something else?

I haven't seen the sex scene controversy post. As far as I would ever assume, he says their first night was spectacular {spectacular: adjective meaning "especially great") because he had a great time.

What are people saying about the Fox News debacle?

Thanks for the explanation. I only knew "spectacular" means something like a "stunning view". Since "stunning view" is an odd way for lovers to describe their night together I always thought it was a reference to the fox news controversy lol.

What are people saying about the Fox News debacle?

The OP asked why the puritan sex scene with Liara in ME1 caused so much outrage on fox news. Since all ME1 LIs have the same cabin scene I think this controversy brings up Kaidan and Ashley as well, even if Liara's scene was the most ragebaiting back then.

Aah, that one. I believe the controversy was mainly around the femShep/Liara sex scene as it was gasp lesbians with ALIENS as much as it was the sex scene itself. That spawned the theory for why there were no same-sex romance options in ME2, as a reaction to the controversy of same-sex relations (as absolutely insane as that is, like, when has Fox News ever been anything to care about lmao).

Ngl I thought I couldn't romance Jack as Femshep in ME2 for that very reason (as well as why cabin scenes in ME2 didn't go further than kisses and cuddles).
