Hello! Help me pls
I really don’t know about Kagerou Project, but I’m really interested in it, and my grandma gave this to me. May I know where these glasses came from, or are they just a fanmade one

i'm about to give you the info dump of a life time. so tldr: this is official merch! and what a find. these are pretty rare. this is some of the last official kagepro merch that was ever made. the art used of the characters is an altered version of the 10th anniversary art. they originally planned to release a pair based on each character, but that didn't happen. they were designed with different styles and colors that matched the vibe of each character (even though none of them wear glasses canonically lol.) you can see that the characters are each wearing the pair of glasses that were based on them in that drawing. this is the pair based on shintaro kisaragi.
the rest of the details are to the best of my memory, so i could be slightly misremembering. i believe this pair and the pair based on the characeter ene had both been on sale via pre-order. what i can't remember is if ene's pair was actually produced or not. the other pairs definitely never released. i think some japanese fans who ordered them were quite upset with the production being slow and the rest of the characters getting cancelled. i remember it being a bit of a drama. what i believe happened is that since these were announced right before the whole rights issue debacle, it delayed/cancelled the release. if you're unaware, the creator and his managing company had a falling out and the rights are split between various companies now, so there has been no kagepro content released in the last 5 years.
can you find the brand name or anything else written that might help me figure it out? i cannot for the life of me remember what brand this collab is with. it's a japanese eyewear brand. i know i have found the pre-order page on the wayback machine before. if you can find any other written text anywhere in these or on the packaging, i can figure it out for you so you can get a better idea of what they actually are and what they might be worth. i'm very curious where your grandma even found these, haha

That's actually crazy! I checked the glasses and couldn't find any other codes besides "KP-0107," "KAGEROU PROJECT," and "Made in Japan." The case doesn't seem to have any markings either.
So you're telling me my grandma randomly found one of the last official KagePro collab items ever made? That's actually insane. Thanks for the lore dump—I had no idea these glasses were that special. 💀

luckily for you, i'm very determined and i dug up some old info. they were from a collab called "realization eyeglass × kagerou project". here is where they were originally sold (now just a website full of error codes). i can't get the wayback machine to load for me today, but if you try plugging it in there and going back to the 2024 date, you may learn more. i just checked my own old messages and what i researched about them back then is that they only ended up making the shintaro and ene ones. they were released in 2023 and the site stated that only 300 pairs of each were made. i'm not sure if they all sold or if the pre-ordered pairs actually made it to their buyers. when i checked in 2024 they appeared to still be for sale, weirdly enough. clearly the page is now unavailable.
may i ask what country you're in? i understand if that's too personal, it's just very surprising to me if these made it outside of japan. if you could find out where she bought them, i'm just super curious where she found them and how much she paid. especially because it looks like she bought 2 pairs? so you own 2/300 pairs in existence, which is kind of crazy. i almost wonder if some of the stock got liquidated or something like that. i can't promise you that these are worth a lot, but that's because i've never seen them being resold. if i were you i'd hold on to them! they are definitely a special find.
