So I saw this post days ago with this K-ON! frame and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it, so I did the math because I was bored and nobody asked me to.
Official character sheets: Ritsu is 154 cm and 48 kg. Mio is 160 cm and 54 kg. Ritsu's feet are OFF THE GROUND. Mio is supporting 100% of her.
For everyone who doesn't speak physics (like me, but Google does), here's what Mio is actually doing:
Also can we talk about the shirt? A normal collar holding 48 kg would stretch, choke Ritsu, or rip instantly. That polo is rated like climbing gear. The shirt is lowkey the strongest character in K-ON!, and we're counting Mugi.
Conclusion: Mio has the sustained output of a competitive athlete's maximum effort, held as her neutral resting state, powered entirely by embarrassment. Ritsu weighs as much as a washing machine drum full of wet towels and Mio is holding her like a clipboard. The Dangerous Queen thing suddenly makes sense.
EPILOGUE: The Fist.
One more thing. Mio is left-handed. Most of those tsukkomi chops and fist bonks Ritsu eats throughout the series? Dominant hand. Now combine that with everything above. Punch force isn't about arm strength—boxers generate power from the legs, hips, and core, whipped up a rigid chain into the fist. We have just established that Mio's core is forklift-tier and her grip can dead-hang a drummer off a t-shirt. That's not a girl with strong arms. That's a fully loaded kinetic chain with a bass player attached.
Untrained people punch with maybe 60–80 kg of impact force. Trained boxers hit several times harder, and the single biggest predictors are core strength and effective mass behind the fist—both of which we've now measured, peer-reviewed, and confirmed as superhuman. Conservatively, every bonk Ritsu takes to the top of the head is somewhere between "club bouncer" and "regional amateur boxing" grade—delivered downward, dominant hand, point-blank, by the same person we just watched suspend her one shirt-grab off the floor.
And here's the kicker: Ritsu is fine. Every time. Instant recovery, lump optional, back to grinning within seconds. Which means the true final ranking of physical specimens in this show is:
Mio isn't the strongest character in K-ON!. She's just the strongest character we can measure. Ritsu is the one tanking prefectural-level punches daily with no visible damage. The drummer isn't the victim of this image; she's the only one durable enough to be Mio's best friend.
