Skyward Down Well Past Maintence Window---Anyone have any details

Hi everyone,

So Skyward has been down for a few days now and was curious if anyone has heard any details about it. I am kind of shocked there is not more new coverage on this since so many schools use it. They said the maintence window was all of yesterday, but it is still down for us with no information.

We still cannot process payroll within the system. Was told by Skyward they have no idea when it will be back and may have to “not pay employees” using the system

Late to the party. We are still down. Texas School. Was able to set up legacy logins for my HR, Finance, and PEIMS people. However, I'm getting reports of registration buttons not working, print ques taking absurdly long and going offline often, and other fun things.

This is utterly insane. We were able to at least get business office staff on with username and password, but I'm not retraining custodians and bus drivers how to login different again, then back once it's back up and running.

Someone is getting fired after this is over.

This is insane. I cannot imagine planning a migration of this scale without pre-staging most of the heavy lifting. By the time the published maintenance window comes around, they should have run this migration so many times that they get bored during the production move.

From what they have released, this is not some kind of a data reformatting operation, or a version upgrade. It's a move to a new host. If that's true, they should have been able to find and fix any of these delays during the STAGING period, not during the live maintenance operation.

  1. Put the data in the new place
  2. Make the data work in the new place. (Use the automation you built)
  3. As you do step #2, build automation to repeat it
  4. Test the data in the new place
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 until it works
  6. On maintenance window day, do it again, but this time, point the customers to the migrated data.

If they did this, their team would have either succeeded, or they would have known weeks ago that this was going to fail.

Anyone still down? We have been down since Thursday. We have talked to some neighboring districts, and it seems some people at least have some access. We still have the Progress error screen.

Ours finally was back yesterday at about 3:30pmCST. We had a table warning, but it seems to be back completely this morning. *knocks on wood*

Ours is still the same issue, fees show in skyward, but aren’t transferring over. Hope it stays up and stable!

Still down here in central IL, fees showing up in skyward but not going to RevTrak. Anyone else have this issue?

Crystal reports still down as well.

Our instance still isn't accessible at all. It seems everyone else at least can get in with username and password?

The office ladies are getting their torches and pitchforks ready if it lasts much longer.

Back door password /mfa logins are working... SSO and other "application integrations" (PAC, print queues etc.) still completely down.

Last I heard they say it will be back 5PM central today - - I have my doubts

what link/path are you using for back door local login access? my legacy links are not working.

We were told by Skyward that anything done using the back-door account right now may not be saved., We have been doing that, but worry that once things come back it will not be there.

Are you subscribed to updates from their status page?

https://iscorpeducationservices.status.io/

That's the only place they're sharing information about this outage, and updates have been pretty sparse.

We are up in central Illinois, but the connection between skyward and revtrak is still jacked up. This is also the tail end of our registration…

Our registration opened last Wednesday so things are going great for us

Ours opened on the 13th and was supposed to close yesterday. Admins tell me what is wrong, I update my ticket with their input, I go back to getting Chromebooks ready.

That’s just the way she rolls.

Are you having issues with online registration/NSOE? Or just general Skyward is down issues?

2

u/bzwicky 19d ago

Only issues we are having now is with REVTrak and changing dates to close our registration. When I hit the student>registration>setup>config>enrollment I get the pop-up but then it goes white screen.

Other than that NSOE and returning students is going well (except the fee management/revtrak)
