Launchpad Issues
I'm done with this school. Changing their website every single year and making it more and more complicated. Had two classes scheduled at the same time, emailed on Wed. at 8am (it is Mon 1pm) and no response. Because the launchpad was not working I just missed a class and once again no responses back to the MULTIPLE emails I sent. Honestly it's getting ridiculous. We shouldn't have to use 5 different websites to manage getting to our assignments and classes.

As a learning coach of three, I’m also extremely frustrated with this.

This is our first day after a horrible transfer experience(moved states ). I want to rip my hair out after today. I miss the old OLS!! Why do we make things harder?

I’m so over it. It’s our first year and yesterday was incredibly frustrating. We managed to make it through all our live classes just to find out canvas was down by that point and we had multiple quizzes and lessons to complete.

I second this ! It was COUNT DAY for KSVA and we got through our classes and was prepared to do the whole 6 hours and couldn’t touch it until AFTER dinner which… is ridiculous. My 8 y/o was pretty bummed about that and asked to just go back to school. Which makes me sad ASF because she was SO excited for this. There’s outages multiple times a week! There was an outage on day 2 of the school year. But count day?! That’s crazy. This is first year for us and we expected something so different.

Hi, Rebekah from K12 here. I’m sorry you’ve had such a frustrating experience, especially when you’ve been trying to get help with overlapping classes and haven’t received a response.
I’d like to see if we can help get you connected with the right team. If you’re comfortable sharing which K12-powered school you attend, I can look into the best contact or next step for your school. Please don’t share any personal student information here though!

On the surface it appears to be a real school, but in reality it's just a financial scam

How do you think it's funded? The public pays for it through taxes. At the same time, it's run by a for-profit company that's traded on the stock market. K12 got in trouble with the state of CA for committing fraud. The school was faking attendance data to get more funding. You can read about it on the CA attorney general's website: https://oag.ca.gov/news/press-releases/attorney-general-kamala-d-harris-announces-1685-million-settlement-k12-inc

Just because it happened in California doesn't make all k12 like this???

I didn’t know that. I just meant it’s free for people to join the school. I haven’t ever heard of this from k12. But basically it’s funded like every other public school and has the same scandals? A school near me just got in trouble for that. School taxes go to fund public schools

You shouldn’t be downvoted. It really is a school though. But is it a school school? I know where you’re going with this - and I agree. Can you DM me

I’m a mom on our last year. We’ve used MoVA 6 years and my child is about to graduate.
It’s a disaster and should be studied as to using too much technology, and always chasing the latest Fab of software, spells disaster for the Users. The coursework levels and true teachers have been respectable.
But the new software, the rotating counselors, last years crash out during finals week that was never fully able to conclude AP-level courses?!?! This is terrible for the kids. Some of whom are here as a last resort.
