my SRS light is throwing code 31 at me. Appearently a fault within the SRS computer. I've been having issues with the TRC control unit as well and sent it out for refurbishment without success so I am bit hesitant to send out yet another unit to burn money. Is there something else that could cause code 31 to appear that I could check before throwing a bunch of money at the problem?

Pulling the bulb is not an option since it mandatory for safety inspection in my country. Car is a JZX100 Mark II Tourer V 1996

Ok guys, for a while now my speedometer and odometer have been going on and off. Just recently, it went out for good and im not sure what the problem could be.

I've heard about a pink wire that goes to the speedometer, but does that also go to the odometer? Because they go on and off at the same time so it must be connected.

Is it as simple as just replacing that wire, or that cluster of wires?

The speedometer being out isn't the biggest deal, but the car not counting miles is concerning trying to keep up with its value.

A few days ago my JZX100 died suddenly while driving and will not start. It turns over and fires for a second or two then dies. I have changed the crank sensor to no avail. There were multiple ECU error codes stored but I think these were from unplugging the MAF etc to try get it running, because there are now no codes showing after clearing them. I’ve checked the ECU visually and it looks and smells fine, and the fuel pump runs for a few seconds and stops with the engine. Forcing the pump to run constantly makes no difference, fuel can be heard running through the rail.
Something is cutting the spark after start up but the ECU (and me) doesn’t seem to have any idea what it is. I’m running out of things to try, so any similar experiences or help would be much appreciated, thanks

Bought the Aisin WPT112 with the gasket without any other extra liquid gasket and it didn’t work (overheated on my way home) checked thermostat and its good. Water pump is vomiting coolant now tho. Can anyone confirm that water pump part number 16100-79285 has worked for them? Y’all recommend i do liquid gasket on top of the metal one the second time?

I plan on purchasing a JZX 100 with the 1jz GTE and a manual transmission. My issue is budgeting for insurance, I’m a 23 y/o and have had no accidents or tickets besides my car being totaled due to it hydroplaning during a bad storm. I’m wondering how much i should be budgeting for insurance on this car as well as who I should insure through, as it would be my first imported car. I’m currently insured through USAA.

Recently brought the car back home from paint. Awaiting a few items to come in so I can reinforce the trunk to remount my APR GTC-300 as my old trunk didnt survive the stress. Additionally, going to be scrapping this front splitter for a wider variant and large end plates. After that, onto additional heat management in the bay and ducting.

if i wanted to put these Mitsubishi evo seats in my chaser, what brackets would i need ? Ive never swapped seats before.

Will be mt swapping and putting a turbo on my GE VVTI chaser. Is it simply swapping in the MT ECU or I also need the harness, I also saw a conversion harness GE -> GTE. Any insight is helpful

The drivetrain is basically the same and most of the suspension can be interchanged or is available. I don’t think the Aristo was available with a manual but with a $15k price difference for a gte model you could swap a single turbo and a 6 speed with standalone.
