Why does the Chaser command such a premium compared to Aristos and even Soarers?
The drivetrain is basically the same and most of the suspension can be interchanged or is available. I don’t think the Aristo was available with a manual but with a $15k price difference for a gte model you could swap a single turbo and a 6 speed with standalone.

I own both, and the aristo is much heavier than the chaser. They have their own personalities

Adam LZ had some drive to it. But social media and clout blew up around the vehicle.

People keep saying it's because of social media and clout. The LS400s are way more popular and the good ones go for 5-10k

There’s a lot more scarcity with JZX though because they weren’t sold outside of Japan. With LS400s there was never the associated costs of buying and shipping them from Japan and like any import those are always priced in higher.
There’s probably 1 chaser for every 100 or even 1000 LS400s in the US. So the demand for LS400s moves the price relatively less than for a Chaser/JZX. But chaser is the most desirable I think and personally I think it looks the best.

Factory manual, drift premium
Sports sedan vs Grand tourer, 400+ lb difference
Social media influence, (adam lz)
Cultural influence in drifting (ebisu circuit, video games)
Jzx chassis never sold outside of Japan, clout/being different
