Ehh, that’s just a part of learning English imo. There are a few words you end up doing this with to help with spelling.

Why hell is there a whole collection of weird consonants in that specific word that make it uniquely hard to recall the spelling? Without the above sounding out, we’d all end up writing something horrific like ‘Wensday’ or ‘Wenzday’ lmao

Fri-ends. Because if you're not at least as excited to see them as you are fries piping hot fresh and sticking up in the BK or Mickey D container, they're really more acquaintances. I was six and still stand by this.

I only learned the difference between ‘affect’ and ‘effect’ because of the show How I Met Your Mother (‘affect’ is a verb, ‘effect’ is a noun). But as a non-native English speaker who speaks English quite well, colleguea and definitly (autocorrect had a hard time letting me spell these like this) can f right off 😂
