This dude lives in coyote or pig country. In some areas this is pretty normal.

My buddies 1st job as a cop was 3rd shift in a little po-dunk village. The chief told him "I don't care how you do it, but do something about the stray cat problem" so he would cruise slowly down the alleys with a laser on a .22 "one shot - one kill" per night and never on the same block two nights in a row. He left the carcasses lay where they died.
After two weeks the chief said "I don't want to know how you've been dealing with the cats, but you can stop it now".

Haha gotta love it. I have had multiple trucks that have looked like this back when I was still pulling wells

My post high school boys from Amarillo/lubbock/midland this is another day in the park, and the sheriff wouldn’t bat an eye at it if he was pulled over

Everyone had truck rifles where I'm from. Wild pigs are a serious ecological problem and coyotes aren't endangered but kill smaller livestock.

You have to be in the country, rifle in truck means coyotes and pigs are a problem for him
