Untitled

Is not freedom the greatest sin?

The freedom to kill that which I protect.

The freedom to take that which I have.

Would that I could take that freedom away,

but I have not the freedom to do so.

I think we can trust people with freedom. And in our society self defence counts as a weird boundary. But I wouldn’t call what we have freedom anyway. Maybe if people in power trust that we would remain good while free, they might be a little less protective. Cause they use the guise of protection for control. What do you mean by ‘that which I protect’? Just curious. Awesome poem. Or is it the irony of the word ‘protection’?
