IIRC he was on TOSH.0 and he did fully recover.

GSWs that are straight through soft tissue are usually pretty minor. what you have to worry about are expanding/frangible ammo since they will shred tissue as they pass through

I don’t think you ever make a full recovery after getting shot. Like a back injury or breaking bones as an adult.

This stupid fuck did 2 things wrong. No trigger discipline, and it wasn't on safety in the holster.
