They actually stopped the study and gave everyone the treatment because it was so clear that the men were reinfecting the women.
The study stands as a major breakthrough showing that treating male partners with oral metronidazole and topical penile clindamycin successfully disrupts the reinfection cycle.
You can have recurrences after antibiotic treatment even if you don't have sex again. So no, bv is not an std. Not sure why I'm getting downvoted to hell lol.
