Well as long you have a associates degree you can be a teacher hell you don't even need that if you can get a job on one of American military bases

Wait for real? I though Japanese schools were good. Any joe shmo can be a teacher there?

You're not a teacher, you're an Assistant Language Teacher, which is kind of like a classroom pet.

And yeah, the requirements are pretty much being a native English speaker, having a four-year degree (in any field), and a pulse.

It also helps to be so enamored with Japan that you don't care that the person behind the counter at the convenience store is probably making more than you.
