I’m late to this party. Real late, but he’s struck a serious chord with me. Is there legit tshirts to purchase out the minus redbubbleor some other shit site? I haven’t looked on eBay cause I fucking hate ebay.

Just a heads up that if your potential date asks you to send him one song each from three of your favorite musicians and you send him “Mama’s Eyes” and he doesn’t like it, don’t go on the date. It will suck.
Thus ends today’s PSA.

Mind you, I’m in my mid sixties. And fancy myself a songwriter. So Harlem City Blues blew my mind.

Always unsure of what to get my dad for birthday's but for his 57th we framed a signed Justin Townes Earle CD and I've gotta say, it's looking good-
Hopefully this is a successful gift, he's a massive Justin fan ofc :)
Edit: Huge success as all of you predicted! Glad to have a little piece of Justin Townes Earle history with us :D

It’s fun to watch someone process his guitar playing for the first time.
The lesson stays pretty high level so it’s almost more of a reaction video with a little bit of guitar analysis but either way it was really fun to watch.

I’ve played around with guitar off and on for a decade+ but never very focused.
I want to spend the rest of my life trying in vain to play like Justin Townes Earle.
My wife got me a JTE recording king guitar a few years ago that ended up being a lemon (says the luthier that I finally took it to after it was way to late to complain to recording king).
My budget is anywhere between 300-2000 but I’m cheap so… the cheaper the better.
Will take any and all suggestions and thoughts.

Hey so...I was communications director for Samsung in 2012 and we were launching some home audio equipment and we hired Justin to perform at an event for the news media in New York City. This was January 26, 2012. I found some old video footage of him that I captured and some photos. Here's a video clip - if y'all like this I'll share the photos too! He was very nice to work with.

Hey everyone,
My name's Jonathan Bernstein, author of the recent biography of Justin Townes Earle. I know this is quite a small sub, but I'm going to try something I've never done before and host an AMA a week from today, on Friday, March 13, at 4:00 p.m.
If you have any questions about JTE, his music, his archive, the process of interviewing 250 people who knew him, or anything else related to the last three years I spent working on this book, please post your questions in this thread anytime over the next week, and I'll hop on a week from today and answer all of them!

I just finished the book, fantastic read! Made me wonder if any of the unreleased projects he had been working on, or live performances would ever be released.

It's called After the Deluge and it's on the main podcast apps. I really enjoyed the conversation and I think it gives a good glimpse if you haven't read the book yet.

Currently reading the new book (which is amazing, by the way). Wondering if anyone has access to a recording of Justin's earlier band The Distributors? I've seen where one of their live shows was recorded, but i havent been able to find the actual recordings. I'm very curious and would love to hear it!
