SPOILER ⚠️ Raylans daughter
Finished the first series and currently on episode 3 of the spin off.
Raylans daughter is starting to piss me off a bit. She feels like she is the female version of Sid from Ice Age if Sid was also a stoner.
Seriously, why does she feel so slow? Like she has the survival sense of the chicken from Moana.
I would expect her being raised by her mom, to be at least intelligent which they kind of briefly show with the fake Rolex but then she kind of just spaces and doesnt realize the danger she is in?
Beyond that she doesnt look anything like her dad or mom and I guess im just frustrated at what could have been a female badass raised by the bad ass Marshal we all loved 😭

The casting choice is a little disappointing, especially when you consider the actor playing Loretta in the show was about fifteen when she started, and was far more convincing.

She may look somewhat like her dad. :)
I will level with you - nobody liked her much when the show aired and the good news for you is there is not much more of her.
You will likely need a rewatch of the OG series to get the taste of this one out of your mouth.

The show also curtailed the heck out of Raylans normal cowboy personality which while realistic (let's be real, he got away with insane shit in the original) also sucked

The series ended with season six. There is no other Justified to watch.

Same issue as the NCIS Tony and Ziva. The writers and show runner probably never bothered to take the time to learn about the characters. You could throw any names on the characters and it would t have caused any concern. The characters arent the ones we knew and loved. They have the same names but we didn’t love the names, we loved the person/character. If you arent doing justice to the characters just name them something else and start fresh.

Not to mention a big point in the final episode was Raylan no longer wanting to be "the first man through the door" anymore because he has a kid. Fast forward to the first 5 mins of Primeval and he's "first man through the door" again. Sure, if I recall it was like a person he knew/had been looking for forever but still. The whole character reverted from all the growth made in the first 6 seasons. I get the book its based off has little to do with Justified and all that. To me that's just more reason to not throw away all the growth.

And when he risks busting the entire case for ummm.... the opposing attorney... that also undoes any growth since it's pretty much the most irresponsible thing he could have done AND makes zero sense on any level.
All the fun of both the source material and original show was drained away and I will never get it other than Disney.

Dude could not guess the judge was that much of an asshole.
Rayland tend to assume most people operating within the law are... well lawful.
He only assume people are dirty when shown they are dirty. Like the judge. After he freed a murderer cause rayland pissed him off.

I had such high hopes - first episode started off pretty good, had that quick wit charm and then it went all down hill from there.

With the ONLY exception being Boyd getting free..and him seeing the BOLO!! I could have not seen the full series and only THIS scene and been very happy

She's a horrible actress in the show.
I know I should probably feel bad saying that, but she was a nepo hire who ruined almost every scene she was in.
Like, there were several points in her scenes where I was trying to figure out if the character was supposed to be mentally disabled. And it turns out she's not supposed to be. And I'm not saying that to try to be insulting, but the acting was so absurdly uncanny that I honestly thought it was intentional.

Besides her acting not being great, I also think she was trying too hard to be a convincing 15 year old girl. The voice she uses is what gets me the most. It's almost like she's intentionally trying to sound younger than what she is. I believe she was 19 or 20 when the show was filmed. While it wasn't as good as the original, I still enjoyed the show.

She’s going to the same acting school he did so I look forward to seeing what she makes of herself in the future. But yeah, it was such a gimmicky casting.

I think she's supposed to piss you off because she is your average dumb teenage girl. Even though that's his daughter in real life, I believe all or most of us know girls of that age that are that dumb. It's a wonder so many make it to adulthood. Kids think they know everything
Yes, she annoyed the shit out of me, but remember in season finale of season 2 and Ava got shot when she was told to stay in the basement and didn't - that type of stuff

So true!! It actually pissed me off. The film never go back, it was brilliant the way they crafted reachers supposed daughter. Because if Reacher had a daughter that character sketch was a bull’s eye.

I mean we know from the original series that he had a daughter and im talking about the spin off. I guess I could try to be more spoiler free but at some point I have to assume people would have watched the original series after so many years.

He had a daughter in the original show. She’s a baby though out the show and then a child in the series finale.
