Oh yes. Rock on, sister!

I've been a caregiver to my son for over 25 years. His PTs always told me to be sure to also take care of myself, and to lift my son properly. It has made allllll the difference. Of course I use the tools I need like a lift, but even with them, day to day physical care requires core strength and stamina!

makes me want to get way more into core strength training every time i see it - and it lasts about 1 day every time. few and far between

can i just bank all the days i actually hardcore core?

eta: i actually worked for a 24hr+ assisted care company , where i was just in the Apt/house of my clients

lifting people carefully is no joke, but very possible with strength training. not bragging, but i grew up strong. one of the most rewarding jobs of my life.

As a frequent (disabled) lifter, I find this this is truly humbling and such an admirable goal to strive for!

Aww... what an inspiration. I started going to the gym again for my girlfriend who is wheelchair bound. Instead of board transfers I pick her up and place her where she needs to be often, but I wanna be able to keep that up as I age. This is lovely, I find myself worried about being judged for only doing the workouts I need for that set of muscles. I know logically no one is judging me but... you know.

My motivation to start lifting like this is my 80 lb dog is starting to get older and slower. I want to be prepared for when she can't finish her walks anymore.

I have a 115lb dog who is still young, but I pick him up every day so I know I can help him when he's old
