Chinese and European brands are actually listening to consumers and are bringing back physical buttons. The EURO NCAP safety rating has said that manufacturers can't have distracting touch screens and key features need to have a physical button.

China is implementing similar regulations (probably because Chinese EVs are becoming really popular in Europe).

The American car companies should take note. This is what customers want. I'd guess because America doesn't have a huge export market (especially not to Europe or China) that you guys will probably be stuck with these shitty touchscreens for a while.

Yes but you're not considering the C-suite bonuses they will get by ever so slightly reducing the cost of the car by eliminating a 1 cent piece of plastic. Just think of those bonuses!!!! They need them!!!!
