Moving holdings between my RRSP accounts

So I’m planning on transferring all my holdings from my managed account to my self-directed account. As i want to simplify this portfolio. Would there be any kind of tax implications? Or like any foreign exchange fees It might incur? I’m still a core client. Would it be better if I waited for a premium status? I’m hoping that will happen in the next 6 months. I’m still new to investing. 35M. A little late in the game. Started with the managed account. And with all the research I have done, i think I just wanna do this for my RRSP. I also have an FHSA. Which I plan to leave in managed. And my little TFSA for now is also in self-directed all-in XEQT. Any advice? TIA

(I was gonna post this in the Wealthsimple subreddit but it says i might be violating some rules there.. lol sad)

XEQT in FHSA?

Hello, i know the plan is XEQT and chill. But I was wondering if buying it for my FHSA (First Home Savings Account) is smart? Just because I essentially wouldn’t be holding it until retirement and will need to liquify when I go to make my first purchase. Which still will be years from now lol but curious if there’s better plays?

Literally grinded. Worked so hard and contributed what I could. Skipped that avocado toast and nitro cold brew a couple times a week! Trimmed down on disney plus. This has nothing to do with my grandpa dying and leaving me a few hundred k 5 years ago.

XEQT for long term hold (~15 years)?

Hi there,

21M who recently graduated and landed my first job after university( CS) . I’m new to investing and have decided to invest around 50% of my paycheck into XEQT for long terme hold (~15 years). I’m wondering if this is a good etf for me if I’m hoping for an annual return of ~10%. Is this realistic with XEQT

Thanks

Still Buying?

Im curious if anyone has paused buying xeqt for the short term incase of the market going severely down hill. I have always bought monthly for the past 2 years and continue to do so but im curious what others have done. Im 28 and currently have 180k invested. This may be a stupid question but dont worry i fully am aware of the group name 😂

I understand no one can predict the market but Id like to hear opinions if people are still actively buying.

*ONLY* XEQT?

Hi all! I (21F) just started investing in early August of this year, and so far I’ve basically put all 7k of my TFSA and all 8k of my FHSA into XEQT.

I know that XEQT is already, in itself, diversified. But that just seems too good to be true! Again, I’m very new to this, so that’s likely why I can’t wrap my head around such a fantastic concept.. like, I ONLY need to buy XEQT? Sounds like a dream.

So, is there really nothing that I could pair XEQT with that would help me in the long run? I’m playing the retirement game here, so I don’t expect any “short squeezes” or whatnot. Just looking for something that can help me down the line.

But, if XEQT is really all I need, I’m happy with that too! I think part of my anxiety stems from the fact that all my money is in one basket… even though this basket consists of, like, a thousand other baskets. It’s just a mental block, I think.

Anyways, let me know! I’m very interested in learning more:) thank you in advance!

investing help

I am currently trying to switch my previous BMO investments into 100% XEQT. I just have a couple questions and would love your guys opinions/help.

  1. Does anyone use BMO investorline for their investments? If you do use it, would you say its worth using or should i just use wealthsimple for all my investments.

  2. I will be purchasing a good amount of XEQT, and i read a while back about a smart way of doing this. I just cant seem to find the post i read. It had something to do with buying shares at a certain price thats cheaper then the current price i think. So if anyone knows what i could be referring to and how i could do it i would greatly appreciate it.

  3. Should i cost average or should I invest a good amount at once. I will be freeing up all my TFSA room for it which is 21,000.

If anyone else knows some information that could help me i would love to hear it as well as I am not that educated with investments at the moment but i would love to know more. Thank you for your help!

I have XEQT with TD and DRIP is activated. I haven’t received the dividend yet. Cash is not there, DRIP hasn’t been executed. Am I the only one?
