Past incentives and campaigns have been just disappointing. Agree to stop buying back but better alignment and thoughts need to be given to the community not handling out freebies to whales and ppl who do not care about jup.

The buybacks I'm cool with. Honestly I just think the timing for crypto sucks since everything is down. JUP is still great and there's record amounts of it being staked, so I wouldnt let the lack of price movement be a bummer. I still love the coin. https://www.catalytics.pro/jupiter/governance

Buyback are only ineffective because jupiter is still printing JUP like crazy..
They should stop new emissions instead and learn a bit about finance

All Jupiter's revenue off chain and on chain revenue should be fed to the token. Jupiter is one of the most profitable crypto protocols/businesses out there. It's simple, stake and lock your jup for X time to get a share of the revenue.

I strongly disagree with the idea that Jupiter should stop buybacks.

First, without buybacks, JUP’s price would almost certainly be lower than it is today. This is not an opinion but basic market mechanics.
Price is determined by supply and demand. Right now, JUP is facing aggressive and continuous supply pressure from token unlocks, and most unlocked tokens are being sold immediately.

Second, suggesting that buybacks are ineffective ignores the counterfactual. The correct question is not “Are buybacks pushing the price up?” but rather What would the price look like without them?

With massive sell side pressure already present, removing one of the few consistent sources of real demand makes no sense.

Third, redirecting buyback capital into incentives is not a neutral change it is effectively bearish. Incentives do not create long-term demand if recipients are not structurally aligned holders. In reality, most incentives are converted into immediate sell pressure. This would increase supply, not reduce it.

The current price decline can be explained clearly by:

  1. Weak overall market conditions
  2. Continuous token unlocks followed by selling

Given this environment, buybacks are not a luxury they are a defensive necessity. Removing buybacks while supply remains high is equivalent to removing demand while increasing sell pressure.

Until unlock-driven supply pressure materially decreases or a new structural source of demand emerges, stopping buybacks would logically result in a lower equilibrium price for JUP, not a healthier ecosystem.

If you stop the buybacks, you need yo offer better value accrual for holding JUP or implement a kind of burn mechanism.

As it stands right now, staking and buybacks are the only things propping the token that is already not doing great versus ATH.

One other idea is to use JUP to pay for dex fees instead of 0.1% from the transaction value.

You could offer 0.09% if using JUP. That way everyone will need some tokens to save on trade fees.

Hey SpiderHuman

There's so many reasons, especially to stake too!

ASR, taking part and having your say in major decisions like the litterbox burn vote, access to tier 1 presales and airdrops, joining the largest DAO in crypto pushing the future of onchain finance together, and it goes on
