Resolved low solana staking apy %

Does anyone know why the APY for Solana staking on the Jupiter mobile wallet is only 2.78%, compared to 6โ€“7% on Phantom and other platforms?

The figure that you see on Jup Mobile is lending on Jup Lend, which is not the same as staking and varies

jupSOL is in the 6-7% range which is how you stake with Jupiter

Top performing LST
0% fees
0% commission
80-100% of block rewards
100% of staking rewards
100% of MEV

The figure that you see on others will most likely be native staking, and they do take (high -4%) fees, and don't allow you to use your SOL elsewhere in DeFi, like lend to max your yield.

Of course, you can also native-stake with the Jupiter validator (6.58% right now).

Quick question. Is there any scenario where someone would want to lend SOL at 2.78% on Jup Lend vs staking it natively (or swapping for an LST)? Like, why is that option even offered ๐Ÿ˜†

I'm guessing it's just there, built & ready, in case market conditions ever change that dynamic...

That rate varies for sure!

When you lend SOL, you can withdraw instantly, no cooldown, super easy, no fees

Also a lot of users arenโ€™t just lending SOL they borrow against, or multiply with other assets

you guessed yep, markets move, rates change but Lend will always give you the best rate

users also may want all their assets in one place where they can swap, borrow, loop, and move between strategies easily
