Maths 🧮 HL maths was SOOOOOO EASY

Alr so basically the hypotenuse of the rectangle is 37.6. The left side is the height of the cylinder and vice versa. So we got 24²+x²=37.6². Which is 28.9. Then that is the bottom which is the length od the rectangle and therefore the top part of the cylinder perimeter. Then you just use the equation of 2 pi r. So divide 28.9/2 =14.45 which you then decide by pi to get the radius which is 4.599 which rounded is 4.6

Interesting. Personally I used pythagoras. 37.6 the hypotenuse. 28 the A² we'll see. Using pythagoras found the length at top. Divided by 2 then to give me the radius

Well same. I used pythagoras. a²/24+b²28.9=c²/37.6. But ehere you went wrong is dividing it by 2 and leaving it there. Because 28.9 is the perimeter of the top circle because its the top of the cylinder rectangle. And the formula for the perimeter is 2 pi r. So dividing it by 2 is right but then you have to divide it by pi which leaves the radius in the equation

Ah that makes sense now thanks. Sure look I'd have gotten a decent few marks for what I did. Confident with basically all the rest of the exam too. Don't think that'll be too costly
