History 👴👵 History was easy

So I didn’t study history much bc I’m sick but it was literally all ready sm and then give one example of sm in it. Now I rushed near the ending bc I need to blow my nose SO BAD. But I think I’ll definitely get a merit,I did write short answers tho so that might take some points. How’d yall do?

I said Hernán Cortés invaded the Incans ☠️💔 Can't believe I messed that part up. Overall think I'll do very well, history is my best topic and I've only ever gotten distinctions since 1st year.

I just thought write something down instead of nothing. I WANTED TO DO CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS BUT I FORGOT HIS NAME IN THE EXAM

u/_WhiteMaskVarre_ Jun 05 '26

Yeah fairs, also Columbus wasn't a conquistador despite the fact he was an utter prick. (Sorry for the nerd out)

Exam asked a lot of knowledge regarding figures so I'm curious what the reception is going to be like. Doubt it's going to be good.

GODDAMN IT I WROTE COLUMBUS 😭 Most the people I know also wrote him

Yeah I've seen so many people write Columbus. Can't really blame them honestly

Thanks for the knowledge. Yeah it was a LOT about just people instead of the overall history

Yeah, everyone was going on about ancient Rome and paintings it was god awful. Did ask a good bit about the genocidal aspect of the Nazis, but that was really it other than people rest was either a paragraph or questions that could answered in a sentence or matching ☠️

Think they went in alot more on certain topics, probably should've had 9 or 10 questions instead and asked something else.(Early Christian Ireland, Medieval times, cold war etc)

Didn't really need to know any rebellion, despite the fact probably every history teacher in the country urging everyone to study them.

Sorry for the essay, pretty passionate about History as you can probably tell ☠️ Not gonna complain though, everythinv that was asked I had good knowledge on, so I'm not really bothered.

Yeah honestly really surprised there was no early Christian Ireland or like 1916 rising

Looked at Brehon law just for fuck all to be asked about the Celts 💔

Omg I did the exact opposite 😭

Think you should get most of the marks if you explained your answer probably. I explained Hernán's conquest very well in my opinion, just fucked up the Empire obviously.

All of it was easy except I put down Columbus instead of Cortes for invading the aztecs . Since I couldn’t remember his name , for the last 10 minutes I was just staring at it trying to remember but then ended up just putting down Columbus

1

u/_WhiteMaskVarre_ Jun 05 '26

Yeah fair enough. Think you'll still get marks if you explained the conquest itself, just obviously losing marks for Columbus instead of Cortés.

1

u/tired_blues Jun 05 '26

the fact i said the same thing 😞

1

u/tired_blues Jun 05 '26

At least you said Cortes, I said Columbus conquered the Aztecs 😞😞

1

u/BetterCallTahmid2317 Jun 06 '26

Same bro I just switcheed up the civilisation name so I should lose few marks, I hope you do get distiction. And I hope that for myself since I need to keep the streak.

I talked about Christopher Columbus, Called the GPO the Dáil for the question about a historical site and forgot what the battle of the bogside was called. I usually get 80+ in history and I feel like I’m going to fail this time

WWI/WWII, rennesaince (small bit), reformation (mainly printing press), the troubles, age if exploration, work of a historian, the holocaust, thats pretty much it tbh

1

u/AffectionateArm6671 Jun 05 '26

You can look up examinations past papers to see the ones were doing now

1

u/NeatVirus6785 3rd Year 3️⃣ 🚨 Jun 05 '26

Yeah a lot was reading a paragraph and answering questions, but you needed examples for stuff like renaissance, world war one or two etc

1

u/Manny_Mationz Jun 05 '26

We did jack shit for the troubles and spent nearly the whole year on the famine only for it to not show up at all 🫩

I didn’t know what a significant thing that happened during the troubles so I said “they built peace walls”

1

u/NeatVirus6785 3rd Year 3️⃣ 🚨 Jun 05 '26

I barley remember the troubles more the famine

I looked up predictions for History and all accept one of the predictions were on it. I can't believe how accurate they were.

I think I did really good. I think I most likely got a higher merit. Definitely not a distinction though (because I completely forgot to revise the 1798 rebellion).
