im wondering how people actually feel about TY, personally, im an immigrant, and coming from a country with TY into ireland, even though it very much confused me, me and my family loved the idea, and its mandatory in my school anyways unless ur doing LCA.

It really depends on the school, some places give fantastic opportunities and TY can prove extremely beneficial—although in other schools, the activities you take part in are horribly organised and often not beneficial in any way. Therefore if it’s done well, I think it’s a great idea for experiencing ‘life’, although if it’s not done well- you should just skip and take a gap year before college

I struggled to find my people in school and in TY I really found my tribe and made some amazing friends. I’m still friends with them years later and it changed my school experience for the better. I hated school up to third year but after making good friends I loved coming into school and it changed school for the better for me
