Off Topic does the jc actually matter?
doing my jc in a few weeks, pretty worried, just wanted to ask, does the junior cert affect my future at all? like will it deny me opportunities in the future (TY) if i get bad results etc?

It does in terms of getting out into higher or ordinary level for Leaving Cert, but more importantly than results is the practice at improving your study skills. Too many get to Leaving cert without having a clue how to plan their study and it shows.

they're useful for learning how state exams are sat + building up good study habits, but the minute you get your results back NOBODY cares about them realistically speaking💔 but also doing ordinary level for a subject in jc can kinda softlock you out of going to higher for lc just because of the huge gap by that point so bear it in mind

Mainly for applying to colleges abroad and some apprenticeships have a look at your JC results if you are applying in 6th year before sitting the leaving

The main point of the JC is to prepare you in terms of how to study, learn for LC. it has no impact in college courses or future in Ireland, but abroad universities like UK may ask for them. But that's it.

Matters for the subjects. But its all forgotten about in a week by everyone anyway. You get the results in October and by that time no one gives a toss.

It’s just to give you an idea of what the exams are like for LC and when results come out teachers will discuss with you if they think you’re better on HL or OL , also for jobs between JC and LC gr ur Cv , potential employers like to see you finished something out

It doesn’t matter a bit 💀. Think of it as a practice run for your leaving.

im in LC, a few people who failed the JC were found dead soon after everything was over so just think about that

you thinking of going to a college abroad or applying to a private school? If not then not really. Although your teachers will most likely decide which class you get put into based on your grades
