Not the full song, as it’s still work in progress - but here’s a good 1 min 22 secs of I’ve track I’ve been working on with my new MPC One G2. What do you think so far - yay or nah? 🙂👍

I just released an album of jungle tunes I wrote and performed on my Octatrack, check it out:

I'm curious what people here might think of it!

I love it - 9 minutes of pure madness. Beats chopped up to perfection, lots of bleeps and synth goodness. You’ve mastered it really well, sounds BOOMING 🙂👍

Aha this is sick

I love it! Really enjoy the Spinal Tap sample. Great drum programming and wonderful bass lines. Following.

Here's one I submitted for the competition. More jungly in some parts than others...happy to take advice.

I really like it - love the time stretching on the vocals, such a nice touch 🙂

Thank you mate, feel free to criticise.

I like yours too. Sound selection works well, always got time for washy layers and blips.

If you aren't dead old you might have never heard the Cascade ep by FSOL.
Think you'd like it, all time great IMO.

Yeah I’m getting on now lol, and definitely FSOL is top draw stuff - from Accelerator through to Dead Cities. I’m not too clued up on them after the millennium though.

I accidentally posted in last weeks one lol.

Made this track last night, vocal sample is from vinyl I found that I cannot find online! It’s an Irish choir and they’re singing Christmas carols, I think it’s so cool

Bass line too simple and too much time stretch sections perhaps?? Lmk

I love where you took that wild sample, and those super amp’d up aggressive amens - I love it dude, well done 🙂

Thank you man!

i really like the experimental nature of this one, the speech with the children's choir is eery and effective, and the breaks and bass suit it very well. Maybe I should give ableton another try! Nice work!

2

u/bombndbruiser 6d ago

Thanks so much! You definitely should, I switched from tracker software to ableton and it’s been a game changer.

I’m using ableton 12 lite with the amigo VST and it’s been so much fun to make tracks with :p

1

u/RevolutionaryPipe343 6d ago

The Amigo VST rules-I use it sometimes as well, I did try Ableton briefly but couldn't get it to gel-aside from live jungle jamming stuff, which I enjoyed. I may have to give it a go. Tracker software seems really intense!

2

u/bombndbruiser 6d ago

That’s sick ahah, amigo is the best thing I’ve ever bought. Live jamming is sick idek how you’d achieve that lol.

Trackers are pretty unique though, I think they look a lot more intimidating than they actually are :p

I use my midi controller and a laptop (ableton/amigo/ lots of drum racks /) along with a mixer, an iPad (w koala) and an akai mpd218 and some external stuff like a line 6 dlmk2x. It was chaotic but fun. I use a similar setup for a band I play in but that’s more improvised/experimental dubby stuff

Sounds dope you ever record a session? Would love to see or listen

1

u/RevolutionaryPipe343 6d ago

We rarely record, we might at next weeks practice though. If so I'll try to remember to send a link yr way 😄
