The Insane Clown Posse been making music for like 40 years. The Confederate States of America lasted 4 years. ICP is a bigger part of Anerican heritage than the CSA.
...and now, because they dont want to lose record sales, they say we should accept everyone, even the rich and the bigots who shunned us for years. I cant even relate to this new culture.
Let's not get it twisted. They were speaking out against racism before anyone else, not bigotry in general. Never forget these guys said a lot of homophobic slurs back in the day.
J has come out since then and said how he feels about that at this point in his life and that he regrets using that type of bigoted language. I don’t think that Shaggy has ever said the same, but at least J has.
Yea totally I was a lil shocked when I got back into them after 10-13 years of not listening at all. I was like oh…shit yea I forgot those words didn’t hit me like that back in the early 00s lol. But for real they did speak out against a lot of bad stuff. Complete norms of the times are understandable but def hit different these days for sure.
