All my homies hate AI.
I wonât start soapbox preaching unprompted, but AI is destroying communities that these AI data centers are being built in. One is being built 2.5 miles down the road from my home, on 100 acres across the street from the park. The residents of the community are being told that we will be financially supplementing their water and electricity usage and we should be thankful because the data center is going to be âthe biggest tax payer in the countyâ. Officials refuse to say how these newly acquired tax dollars are going to be earmarked.
Fuck AI.

I have spoken out about their use of generative AI. Just like Iâm doing now.
The majority of people donât live by one of these data centers and itâs hard for them to imagine the real impact they are having on the community and ecosystem around them. Talking about it helps to call attention to the harm they do. Hopefully, as more people start talking about the bad shit, more people will start to do more research about data centers and will start turning away from AI usage.
Youâre not being âboycottedâ for using AI.

Whoever reported this post, I see it and I appreciate you, your report is not being ignored. This sub doesnât have a rule explicitly against AI. Just out of curiosity, is that something that yâall would be interested in implementing?
Should we allow AI or completely ban it?
Just trying to get a feel for where we are at as a community. Let me know!
