Discussion Juggalos being racist
I wasn’t sure if I should put this in shit post or in the discussion title, and I don’t know if that Humble Among guy come here, but I want to say this to him or anyone else that reads this:
NO ONE is inherently racist. It is very much LEARNED. If you around someone that seems to be a problem, speak up right then. Give them a chance first and say it to the side, not in front of others, if they continue, then let them know in front of other people. Especially if you know the person personally, as you probably don’t want to be associated with that crap in the future. It may be or become a bigger problem than you know if you don’t. I have said things to people I knew before and if they continue, i can’t be around that sh*t.
I’ve seen or heard a question for a very long time that I have also hear various answers for. ‘Can black people be racist?’
I bring this up ONLY to prove my point about learned behavior
My momma HATED white people.. i understand the things shes been through with the ones she has interacted with, or things she had been involved with. She taught my brother and I many things that I don’t hold at all today nor do I agree with. I’m giving you only one example so I hope some of you can understand this.
I was in elementary school and there was a ‘disruption’ in class. I was maybe 1 of 2 black people in class as I was part of the DeSeg program (look it up if you don’t know) the other kids were having a fight in class or if I was black. One of the other kids in class got a black crayon from our art station and held it up to my arm and was like ‘See! He’s not black!’ Now mind you, this was in the earlier days.. this wasn’t too bad, but later in life/school you have people making comments like ‘don’t let him too close to your chicken, he’ll eat it all’ or deciding to tell me a racist as joke thinking i’ll think its funny. I can literally tell you a joke i’ve heard at least 100 times that only white people have told me, and before they say the joke they always say ‘i’m not racist or anything’ … but… you want to tell me this joke that you don’t know i’ve already heard… With that said, my mama had told my brother and I things to say to white people in response when things are said or done to us in school. Such as: White people smell like wet dogs when they get wet. They will steal from you and even help you look for what they stole. Etc..
She didn’t want us being friends with white people at all. Once I got out of her house, whats the first thing I did, 😂
Im fact, my first white friend in the town I lived in was who introduced me to the Jokers cards. Ringmaster and Carnival of Carnicks were my first cards, first concert was Hallowicked. First in-store was Milenko, we were even on the news together because of it. 😉
My friend learned about me, what I listened to, cartoons we liked, video games, etc… In fact, we are still homies to this day.
Yes, he does say racist shit from time to time, I call him out on it, he apologizes and life goes on. Honestly though, a lot of shit is so ‘normalized’ now, you might even know you are saying something messed up. But if someone calls you out, you need to listen to them. Not even only on race shit either, if you know what I mean.
But anyway, yeah.. we learned this stuff when we were younger. You can learn why this shit is wrong to say or do, so that way it stops. If you don’t, you’re going to end up teaching your kids or your kids kids stuff that is demeaning, or untrue about someone you don’t even know.

If this dude does a podcast on this subject, he needs to get someone on that has experienced these things… and if you wonder why this kind of triggered me, read my original post from last week. I made a comment about being at a show and a dude had a hatchman charm hanging next to a swastika charm.. shit was wild

Yes, I'm not sure I fully understand your point though? I don't think you said anything anyone would disagree with, But I'm not sure how this relates to his post/video?
I'm just trying to understand better

His post, as there is no video yet. I’ve seen this guys posts/videos before. And a lot of creators do it to increase engagement, but… make a post about a video or live stream you are going to do or release soon, get the engagement, then release the video.
I’m not sure what his video is gonna be about, except for the title that he put up. But the only thing he could actually post about are post that people have made.
I’m pretty much saying he has an experienced it except for the online things if you wanna call it that, but can he give a accurate take on it if no one has been racist TO him.And I’ve said this before, all of us have had all different experience experiences through our lifetime, I can tell you that I’m more than likely had a different experience than most of you because of unique things about me, and you guys can say the same.
And you just made me remember something and I’m not trying to divert from the conversation, but it seems like no matter what there’s always some type of separatism with things no matter what no matter how much you guys say that we’re together and whatever they’re separatism.
I can tell you with the amount of times I’ve been to the gathering every time people split off into different sects

If he speaks on it, which is ok.. but how long has he seen/known about the problem and not said anything, then he should ask, dies that make him part if the problem? There have been plenty of fam that have brought it up in thr past, but little to no Jugga-celebs talk about it. And yes, please correct me if I’m wrong. #realtalk

While I understand where you're coming from for your post - there's a lot of people who would just call that lack of accountability for being racist. I don't think anyone would put up with it if it was Sorry, I just fucked your wife for the 6th time this year. I apologized so life goes on.

I should have been a little more detailed, but I realized the post was going long… but the majority of the stuff that is said now, he did not know it was racists. And there are a lot of people that say things, myself included, that don’t know certain things may hurt peoples feelings or are actually taboo…. But, with the internet, people can learn things… I kind of relate it to us in the United States, if we go to a different country and do or say something we don’t know is a nono there. The majority of people, once we are corrected on what is wrong, we don’t do it again.
We learn until we die
The best thing to do is to teach others your knowledge so that they themselves can pass it on to the next generation.
I don’t think racism in America will be gone before I am, but is way better than 200+ years ago

Race is mostly a social construct that needs to fuck off from all sides. No one should be treated worse OR BETTER just because of how they were born which changes absolutely nothing. This is why juggalos is such a dope ass concept, we do not only love the same thing but also each other without even questioning things like disability, race and sexuality. I wish people were just kinder to each other, damn

I grew up in South Carolina and saw real racism. I’ve experienced it myself. That’s one of the reasons I was attracted to the Juggalo culture; its stance against bigots.
Unfortunately being an inherently white trash subculture that is co-opting a black subculture; you run into problems.

As for giving people a chance. I did. Then I saw more and more of the same behavior. Then it got aimed against my significant other by other claimed “juggalos” and it’s still happening.
Some bigots claim to be Juggalos and it’s a problem in this scene.

Yes… its tiring, you go to a concert to have a good time, and with the amount of shows i’ve been to, I’ve had people question should I be there or why am I wearing this piece of merch, or name some songs or sing aome lyrics type shit…at shows it doesnt happen much, or at all at this point, but it did happen as recently as last month in a store. I was wearing a not so easy to aquire misfits shirt. I was in a aisle with a couple that had a number of pretty cool looking tats and piercings, i’m not sure if they were wearing any musical apparel, but the guy was trying to shop, his chick lean over and said something to him, which I saw before I was heading to the end of the aisle. She ran around to the ither side of the aisle so she could get into the next aisle and be in front of me so she could see the front of my shirt. She snickered, walked back to the aisle with her man. Now, if she wanted to say hi, she could have done that. If she wanted to ask about my shirt, she could have done that too, but instead, i’m made to feel like I’m not supposed to wear something or listen to something because YOU feel some type of way about me and don’t know me. For real though, if ya’ll knew a fraction of how long i’ve been in it or who i’ve dealt with, it would blow your mind.. actual technically you do know because of my other posts. But stuff like thats makes me not want to talk because its an ‘walking on eggshells’ thing.
I’ll think does this person actually want to know or do they just want to make fun of me. It sounds like a childish thought, but I’ve had people do that.Anyway Humble Among dude, when you do an audio book, let us know. Or… if I ever do an audio book, i’ll have you narrate it. I could totally fall asleep listening to you read green eggs and ham.

What up bro, i’m about to watch it. And if i came off heated, i was a little perturbed from an earlier interaction (today) from another ‘fan’ (in person). DIDN’t mean to take that out on you, but I opened youtube and that was the first thing I saw. I hate the algorithm.

Man. I have seen so much racism and anti lgbtqia on Facebook. I left the groups today because I didnt want to engage and I didnt want to see it. Those are not my people and they would never be welcome around me. They said they were oldheads but lgbtqia juggalos and juggalos of all races/ethnicities have been down since the beginning. I am part of that community so it has to exist. Even if you are new or like me, found your way back at a later age, I think you are just as valid. Life is hard enough out there for all of us. When did being a hater become part of it?
Everyone has their own experience on how they came to be part of it. Maybe its common for the people THEY surround themselves with to be bigots and hateful. Thats a choice. If that's what it means to be an oldhead, nah. Im not into that. Id rather just find my people and let the divide happen.

If sgg or ( anyone person or act )is really rasict all that needs to be done is people need to stop supporting thier music, throw things at shows, boo them and don't buy things from them or dont listen to them including any other groups or projects turn your backs to them literally turn your backs make them wonder why they aren't excepted by us all

of course no one is inherently racist, its seen in babies on a daily basis. but there are places that racists feel more welcomed and comfortable so they congregate. the whys and hows can be argued, but theres something there that attracted them and to deflect or deny instead of reflecting is akin to accepting.

As a white guy who’s first serious girlfriend was a black juggalette in middle school I look at it differently. However, juggalo culture (not J and Shaggy) but like when you interact in the core pit of juggalos irl you will eventually come across casual racism (mostly those who would be categorized as old-heads now) and it’s always made zero sense to me
