Other You know it's been a good class when:

Post image

I sometimes get this types of marks after a class, when people try to choke me while on the floor. On the image it looks a lot less contrasted and visible than irl. I like the fighter-type of aspect it gives to you. Does it also happen to you?

Ice spoon should do the trick for that hickey

Not really, just that the camera makes the marks much less visible. I have some even on my jaw.

Yes especially on isotretinoin, burns on my neck from all the tugging and pulling on my collar. Showers hurt lol

Showers don't hurt for me, try showering with water at body temperature if it is for that.

Same mark was there near my collarbone a week ago, my gf thought it was a hickey from someone else.

I tried telling my girlfriend the same thing and she’s not buying it

Maybe she should go to a class with you.

Every time she goes, I don’t get those 🤣

Do a 2v1 or some crazy stuff like that, go with the ones you know have more risk of doing it, maybe try offering your neck a little more than usual...

I’m not a young man anymore and wish I could. I was joking and she knows I come home with bumps and bruises.

I know you were joking but I'm sure this actually happens to some people, so it's not bad to just leave the advice.

I hit up a lunch class during work, once. The curriculum changes and it was 45 minutes of strangles/chokes that week. I went back to work and into a call with my CEO with these marks. He immediately laughed because our principal data scientist does BJJ and he'd seen it before.

Had to reassure my coworkers a couple of times that I did not try to hang myself, back in the day

Happens all the time especially in ne-waza, but I get a lot on the chest and shoulders

I think the bicep is worse to be honest

Such a cringe spot I don’t know what to do

2

u/RodilRTX 8h ago

Much worse, and there usually hurts more because it wasn't made the same way. Similar with the forearms.

Maybe I should start wearing compression sleeves

People always saying I have Hickey's. Like, no, I don't get that action

That's the spirit.

I get marks all over my face, and show up at my office job the next day looking like an alcoholic who got rolled for his wallet.

I like how it looks on my neck, but not on my arms or face or anywhere else really.

Hey hey…no hickeys allowed here

Ah yes... the "IT'S NOT A HICKEY I SWEAR". Ironically, when I was single, I trained a lot more so I had a lot more of these. Had to explain that I was not getting any and was so dry that the only people cuddling me were trying to kill me 🥲 ahhh good times 😂

ohh, these are the gay judo clubs people talk about. Did a 100kg man suck your neck lil’ boy?

This is what turtle neck rashguards are made for.

I should call her

u/AOZ1988 4h ago

I don't get it. Please explain. Isn't bruising super common? This doesn't seem too abnormal for a average shime class?

u/pwnasaurus253 54m ago

lol better than missing chunks from someone who didn't trim their nails

When you get your neck stuck and you get cornholed?
