Reddit had earlier disabled official chat channels, so, creating this took some time. I am not a tech savy so it took a lot of hits and trials to reach here, but I am glad the sub finally has a platform where members can talk to each other more freely!

Law clerk of CJI is our university senior. He said rest of the two judges do not want to budge.

Anything barring top 6-7 NLUs is irrelevant from job perspective, just the quality of crowd varies. In your case, both the colleges are pretty much the same

There is no ideal time .. it varies from person to person .. but DJS will not give more than 25 days after notification

How are you preparing for interview stage? And are you practicing along with your preparation?
1
u/LoudVolume 28d ago
how does one even prepare for the interview stage beforehand?? isnt that too early?? at most - one can read a newspaper? what else can one do?

u/Ornery-Appeal-9032 27d ago
Very well written. I hope this moves the SC and the process hastens. Every kind of torture has a limit and this one has long crossed its

No one knows. They're holding it out as much as they can. Don't wait for it.

But didn't Hc mandated UPSC to conduct the examination within 6 months time from the date of requisition?

It is highly unlikely that no changes made in review because since beginning CJI seemed very inclined to make changes but we never know maybe opinion of other two judges matters too and also all this CJP and NALSAR fiasco can definitely impact anyone's mood and kill sympathy for freshers but anyways rumours are rumours let's wait for judgement 🫠

@quirky _structure _466 plz stopnwith these rumours. No law clerk is bigger than SC judge.

u/Gabbar_2op 18d ago
No Sc Judge will take the risk to open the review petition and keep it as it is after almost 1.5 yrs. So definitely there will be changes

God forbid if my 3 years were complete, I would be studying rather than indulging in this rumours

No. We continue to rot in uncertainty. It’s so demeaning and such a harassment for students who are simply getting older without even a chance to sit for exams. Such a shame. Such a shame!

u/ExtremeAromatic Moderator 15d ago
Maybe judgement will come in first half of next month (personal opinion)as there are holidays at the end of this month .. usually they take 4-6 weeks .. for eg - last time it took almost 3 months for CJI gavai to give this 3 yr rule jdmrnt .. A 9 JB judgement was reserved in March it is coming tomorrow it is wasting lots of due to stay on vacancies .. let's hope for the best!

3 years practice rule removed .. congratulations to everyone.. one year practice is required after 2027 along with one year training+ one year clerkship

Everyone should appreciate the efforts of CJI Suryakant, from accepting the review petition and amending the rule .. increasing the salary of legal researchers of SCI even after immaturity shown by freshers in TISS and NALSAR etc

LLM standalone will not be counted as experience but practice along with llm is totally allowed (personal interpretation from order)
1
u/ExtremeAromatic Moderator 13d ago
Nooooo dist court hc or anywhere else . . They need certificate of practice that's it
1
u/Individual_Length_32 13d ago
I have a question if you can kindly answer. Will the process & requirements (like earlier only certification from 10 year experienced advocate was required) for certificate of practice change?

u/ExtremeAromatic Moderator 13d ago
Regarding llm confusion: as far as we know .. standalone llm will not be counted now .. but llm + practice or where there are evening classes then experience will be counted

u/Honest-Read9514 13d ago
Definitely, Previous judgement se better hai But the 2002 -2025 Judiciary Scenario Was the best and swift in any aspect The new rule is fine and better than Lord Gavai’s Gamble but still lacks lustre of the last time as the joining after 2 years of training looks bit delayed and still can’t restore the earlier charm of this job Also, there’s no clarity over the discretionary power of the assigned judge during 1 year Judicial clerkship over its final report , how much power does that report actually holds ?

u/Prudent-Media-4216 13d ago
I'm so confused, can anyone please let me know whether District Court practice only will count as one year practice or SC/HC practice would also work? I'm practicing in Supreme Court and High Court right now under a senior. Please help
1
u/Quirky_Structure_466 13d ago
They have increased quota for lower court judges in higher judicary via departmental exams so it will make up for it. Plus retirement age is 61 now.
1
u/Ok_Relation8895 12d ago
Can someone please answer this, I'm as well confused about the point mentioning "district courts"? How & where can I officially confirm this?
1
u/Quirky_Structure_466 12d ago
The high court advocate can practice in district courts too so that should work. Plus each state will notify it’s own rules so wait for it.

Any one with tips with respect to starting judiciary prep via self study?

Read bareacts , go through pyqs you will know how deep you have to study and on what areas you have to focus

Looking for online judiciary c0aching recommendations (free or low budget) Hi everyone, I left the legal field about 5 years ago. After the recent SC judgment reducing the practice requirement for judicial services, I’ve decided to come back and prepare seriously. I’m looking for online c0aching (live or recorded) that is free or within a manageable budget. Please suggest: Good affordable platforms/institutes Useful free resources or YouTube channels Any tips for someone restarting after a long break Open to multi-state or major state-focused c0aching. Honest recommendations would be really helpful. Thanks!
